i want to give my 40 yr. old dining room table top some shine. will this polisher do the trick? if so, what kind of polish do i buy? the sprays just doesn't polish anymore.

I would use a paste wood polish and apply it by hand with a pad or soft rag. Use the buffer to shine when the polish has set a few minutes. Don't overdo it by exerting a lot of pressure on the table top.

WP900 is the machine. The "foam applicator" (is blue in color) is intended for applying wax while wet/moist. The wool pad (white) is intended for polishing. The blue(foam) one works significantly better than the white (wool) one for applying the wax. Used it today on my car.
