Solid, well made, suits well the left-handed user
I can only echo what has already been said. This is a solid, no-nonsense knife that should be a must for the outdoors. No foolishness, no complications, just things that do actually work well. The saw, for example, cuts very well and is exceptional for making tinder in a very short time. The can opener works like wonder; the screwdrivers are solid. One thing I'd like to add: this knife suits very well left-handed people. The liner-lock for the main blade needs to be pressed from left to right, so it becomes an easy movement for the left-handed person. I find it very good, I can open and close the blade with one hand, no problems. Can't even think to use another knife now, this was money well spend.

Surviving Quality!
In the early 50's I recall seeing a film called 'Inferno'. It starred Robert Ryan who played a man left stranded in a Californian desert with a broken leg. He was able to survive his ordeal by making great use of his multi purpose penknife. I think it was a Swiss Army Knife. If it wasn't one, it should have been. As a result, shortly afterwards, I bought my first one which is still going strong. It is also something of a survivor as it accidentally dropped from my pocket a couple of years ago while walking our dog. Searching next day, I found it lying in the road. It was covered with muck and looked a sorry sight. It had obviously been run over by passing traffic. It was taken home, given a good wash and oiling and cleaned up surprisingly well. Apart from some minor damage to the red covering; a small corner of which had broken off, everything works perfectly. I continue to use it every day to slice fruit for myself and my dog while out on our walk! A great advert for the manufacturers. This is the fifth Swiss Army Knife I have bought over the years and, like all the rest, it is a thing of quality. Beautifully designed and finished, the high standard of the materials speak for themselves. Slightly larger than my other purchases, it is, nevertheless, extremely portable and will accompany me on all outings other than my dog walking ones. I particularly like the main locking blade and am impressed with the design of the saw which will see much use keeping our garden shrubs in order. I know I will make great use of the other tools, especially the toothpick. A Swiss Army toothpick has saved me a lot of tooth-sucking frustration over the years.Living a rural life style for the past 20 years, I can thoroughly recommend this firm and their products to anyone.

A fantastic lock knife with the most essential tools from Victorinox.
This knife has a more practical lenght of blade and saw than the pen knives but even though it is longer it will still fit nicely into a pocket or backpack. The blade was very sharp, including the serrated portion, straight out of the box, it just took me a little time to get used to the liner lock. This knife has the essential extra tools and the build quality is outstanding which is exactly what I've come to expect in all Swiss Army knives!

Great knife
Love this knife as much as my leatherman multitool..and that's a lot. Nice one handed opening, strong lock. Easy to hold and work with, and has all the basic tools I need. Swiss build quality all the way. Only downside in the UK is that is a locking blade and is a tiny bit (1/4 inch or so) over the 3 inch legal limit. I'll be using mine at work a lot but will probably not carry it daily outside. Which is a shame, cause it's an excellent little knife - Still don't regret buying it!

Great every day knife
Great knife. Unfortunately I think it is actually illegal to carry in the uk now. So it stays at home as a hobby knife. It sharpens easily to a good edge.

starstruck
Oh my lord - what a beauty! I got It in hand and was star struck by the immense craftsmanship behind It. Brilliant in every way. Such beauty and pleasant feel are rare to find. In fact I haven't got the heart to put It to use. At least It shall sit on my desk and shine for a loong time before I gently let it slide some plastic. Damned be all the years that passed by without me being really aware of this brand. Now, this sort of a construction are not meant to perform heavy duty tasks on a building site for example. Nor in the garage or hobby room either. That's another league. Think of it as a nice little companion that may sort out random light wight tasks that pops up here and there. There is most likely one to be found in Gyro Gearloose' pocket. Go for it fellows - It's is Swiss made!

A great swiss army knife
I bought one of these to use at work, the serrated knife easily slices through insulation tape and heavy duty plastic bags and the screwdriver has been very useful when repairing equipment that was worked loose. One thing to note is that due to the length of the blade, the locking feature and the ability to open the blade with one hand that this knife is not quite legal to carry around in the UK unless you have good reason to carry it (for example you use it for work).I would recommend a different Swiss Army Knife if you will be carrying it around in public, just to avoid any over-eager coppers. In short though, this is a brilliant SAK and is well worth the money.
