Meet Your Mother: A Brief Introduction to Mary

This lovely little book promptly engaged a fairly thorough review of O.T. and Traditional understandings of why Jesus's mother is so significant. If you have a heart to grow closer to Christ, He has blessed us with access to His mother, Mary, Mother of the church, which is us - all Christians and potentially all people!

I love the format of this book. I am a cradle catholic & have a strong devotion to Mary. Please if you are not catholic don't let that hinder you from reading this book! What I love about it is the way it is written for non-catholics & catholics alike to really understand Mary as our heavenly mother, not just the woman that gave birth to Jesus. This book explains (with scripture) why every person to embrace Mary as our heavenly mother. At the end of the book it also discusses briefly Mary's apparitions & the message she gives with each one.

For a person devoted and follows Mary, or is not too familiar with the mother of God, this book is excellent. It explains every angle from the Church's point of view. Why she is named mother of God. Why she is mother of us all. How and why she is so involved in our lives, whether we understand or not. This book will help you understand. It is also a book overflowing with love. Love from God the Father, to the Son, to the Spirit, to Mary. The only drawback is some of the terms. Some are explained. Some are not. A glossary, short and simple could be beneficial to the beginner learning about Mary.

I attended Catholic school for 12 years and now, as a senior citizen, I began saying the rosary daily. This book has made Mary more alive. I don't think I ever really understood how powerful her role is, nor did I fully appreciate that, as He hung dying on the cross, Jesus gave His Mother to each of us. This book strengthened my love for Mary by explaining in great detail exactly who she is and why making her a part of our lives is so important. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who wishes a closer relationship to the Blessed Mother.

My children attend a traditional Catholic school with Latin Mass and a motto of To Jesus Through Mary. I'm thankful for this book opening my eyes and heart to understanding their mission at the school and church. As a cradle Catholic from a liberal church I was lacking in this knowledge.

He writes like he is speaking to you. I still brag that he was my high school religion teacher my senior year. He taught us alot about Mary then, too. I learned alot throughout this little book of things that were refreshers to me and things that I had not learned about yet. Mary, Mother of God Pray for me a sinner, that I may continue to grow closer to Jesus your Son each day.

As a Protestant believer, this book really helped me understand the Catholic dogmas of Mary. It was very detailed but presented information in such a way that I understood it, not having much previous knowledge on the subject

Well written, easy to read and very inspirational. It doesn't matter what religious background you are from. Meet Your Mother will leave you thinking.

A lovely book as an introduction to mariology.

An enjoyable read, reminding Catholics (and even non-believers) that Mary loves us so much. She is our Spiritual Mother who always points us to Jesus, her Son.
