Perfect Protection
Great product. Well made and perfect for covering my gardenia bush during freezing weather and snow. Easy set up and removal. I see no cons at all.

Fine product. Open outdoors and very carefully.
Just got the 54-incher. It came with both tent stakes and tent pins, four each, and a setup-takedown instruction sheet. The stakes and pins didn't seem long enough to hold the cover down in high winds when used in our soft garden soil, so we bought foot-long ones, using them on the corners and the stakes that came with the cover on the sides. Be VERY careful when opening the compacted cover, because the tightly coiled fiberglass braces spring open explosively. Note to manufacturer: Please put the warning re the explosive opening on the outside of the zippered storage bag rather than inside it. We didn't see the warning until after we had it come flying open in our faces.

Excellent Product
I have become somewhat of a container gardener over the past few years. Container because I live in an apartment. I do have a large 2nd floor deck. Prior to last year I stuck with flowers, but really wanted some shrubs as well. I was aware that plants in pots don't do as well outside in winter as plants in the ground. So I bought this tent. What I did was take a couple of plastic tubs, added a mix of wood shavings and dirt, wrapped the pots in bubble wrap, placed the into the insulating material and settled the tent over them.IHammering stakes into the deck was not an option so I stapled the tent down along its bottom seam.Last week I dismantled it and every single plant made it through the Maine winter. Absolutely no issues. I recommend this tent to anyone. It is a little bit tricky getting it all folded up and put away, but even that took no more than 5 minutes. Save the instructions!

Ok for a protected area
They look nice but they did not withstand the wind & snow. I had to reset them after the first storm. They did restand but for the money I was hoping not to reset them each time we had snow.

Dissapointment in merchandise
this item caved in and broke a main center branch off of a Japanese Maple tree purchased last spring. It tore the main center branch that was 2 feet long and a side branch that was 1 foot long In looking at this cover the cover has only 4 rods supporting the tent. we noticed We had a large storm about 4 weeks ago and cleared the cover at that time. We had an ice storm 4 days ago and the cover caved in again. at that time we removed the whole cover and rods it seems to us that this item does not have enough rods to do the job it was supposed to do. Please contact us @413-4454385 regarding this matter. I have left 4 messages on your 800 number to Derek and customer service T hank you Helen Bienvenue 64 Kittredge Road Pittsfield, MA 01201

Works great . Highly recommend.
Used a smaller one last year on Japanese maple. Tree made it through the winter beautifully. Bought a larger one for it for this winter. Never had a problem with wind or snow building up.We did replace stakes with metal ones.

They are the only ones that have internal metal support AND good strong fabric
I have been buying these NuVue plant covers for years--all sizes including the 52" size. They are the only ones that have internal metal support AND good strong fabric. I recommend them highly. They aren't perfect. You should "swizzle" the plastic anchors around the cloth tabs a few times to secure the tabs to the anchors; and then pound them into the ground. The cloth tabs don't come off that way. From time to time I have covers where the internal structures break or come out the top. I'd give them a 4.5 star rating if there were such a raating.

Very disappointed
We thought this would be great to help protect our shrubs during our New England winters. It didn't hold up to even a light snow. It falls down on itself with 2 inches of snow. Imagine what 12-18" of snow did. Flat as a pancake. My husband staked it out as wide as possilble when he put them up, so we don't think the cover was too loose. When the snow was light, we could pull on the sides and it came back up. Now at this point, we're just hoping that our shrubs lived. Would not buy again.

Easy to install!
I used this cover to protect a new bush. It’s big enough the bush can grow into it over the next year or two. It comes with 8 tent pegs to keep it in place. It did blow loose in 110km/h winds but should stay fixed once the ground freezes. Really pleased!

Not very stable
I purchased this to cover a rhododendron during the winter. It is huge - which is what I needed. Unfortunately, the snow weight caused it to collapse to one side. While the snow did slide off of it, it built up on one side and pushed the whole thing over.

Great winter cover to cover larger plants
I hear they are discontinuing this size - a shame. I have 4 of their 5 sizes in use now. They are quick to set up, once the initial inner securing of the steel reinforcing rods up has been done. They are easy to make smaller and store for the summer.I have replaced most of the plastic ground securing pegs with 16 inch, galvinized steel spikes. The plastic ones bend or break easily and do not go deep enough to hold the unit. Steel also goes through frozen ground. For the 52 inch and larger, I often will also install a tie down to a secure object as gale wind can blow them over before the ground is really frozen and the snow arrives. But a whole lot easier than wooden stakes and burlap every year.I hope NuVue changes their mind .
