upgraded my video card from GTX1060 with a single 6 pin power adapter to a Vega 56 that required two 8 pin connectors; however, my PSU only provides two 6 pin power cables (PSU of 650W). These adapters work perfectly, have had no issues and don't smell any plastic, as if it were drawing too much current through the wires. Seems fine! BTW, my card came with an adapter for Two 6 pins to a single 8 pin connector; however, the card wouldn't provide signal with that adapter.

Much higher quality than I expected. These were used on a RTX 2080Ti intentionally overclocked. They replaced a cheap 6 to 8 pin adapter that got hot under load. These have thicker copper and don't heat up at all under load. The 2080ti is likely pulling 250-275 watts through the PCI, and 2 power cables, meaning the cables are powering 100 watts each. TOTALLY worth the price.

I had bought a new gpu but I didn’t have the wire needed to hook up to. Was weary about it as I’m still fairly new at pc building. So far it works as intended and haven’t any issues so far. Will update as time goes on but so far, it works great! Update: June 17th No issues with it. Legitimately surprised how well it’s held up. Definitely will buy again!

They work. And they are good quality. I buy these often for use in HP Z440 workstations (the Z440s only have 6-pin power plugs and so need the 6-to-8 pin adapters for most graphics cards these days. They connect up easily and are hassle-free. And since they are pretty short, there is no problem on space.

Probably the best solution to power a GPU requiring an 8 pin PCIE port. Do know that a 6 pin connector only works for 75 Watts, and an 8 pin works for 150 Watts. Since you're still only be having 3 ground wires, you should make sure you're not going too far over the 75 maximum rated watts. Eg: if your GPU is in the first PCIE slot, it gets 75 Watts from that slot. If it has an additional 8 pin connector, with a 6 pin to 8 pin converter plug, it should not run much above 150 Watts (vs 225Watts on a true 8 pin connector), or errors might occur (unless you have a really good PSU). This plug works well, and I'm happy about it.

This was exactly what I needed for my HP 1050 watt (older) PSU to properly power my GTX 1080ti. My HP's PSU slightly predates dual 8-pin video cards. I do have multiple 6-pin PCIe power outputs from my PSU. These adapters fill that void perfectly! Good connection and adequate gauge wire
