The Complete Mandolin Method -- Intermediate Mandolin: Book & CD (Complete Method)

There are plenty of books out there on how to start out on the mandolin, and plenty of books out there that have rather advanced and ambitious goals. This book, I've found, nicely bridges the gap between the two.It offers a number of tunes and techniques that take the novice mandolin player further up the neck, deeper into the repertoire, and into a greater understanding of how the instrument works. If you've worked through Horne's first book, or any other introductory method, I highly suggest you give this a look. It's a very fine bridge to more advanced work, and it fills a needed gap in published mandolin instruction. I'm very pleased with how it has helped me grow as a musician.

Great produt for learning mandolin. Seperated in such a way that notation readers can skip that portion of the book without missing any important technique instructions on learning mandolin. technique instuction very clear and detailed.Above is the review I wrote for the beginning book. This book just carries on in the same manner. Excellant instructional book.

I love this book, however, I need to purchase all the other books too! It is a great resource for my personal music library. Great explanations how to play the mandolin.

I bought both the beginning and intermediate mandolin instruction books by this author and found them both to be excellent! The book is well thought out, presents material very well and the CD is a perfect companion as it provides an interplay for the student between playing chords and melodies. The pieces selected are great (Bluegrass).Never having played the mandolin in my life, I found myself with two weeks notice that I had to double on mandolin in a show (the other instrument being guitar). These two books saved my life!

I am a beginner, but bought all 3 books because I liked the first one so well. They are great to practice with. I am taking lessons, but these are a great addition to my practice sessions.

This is as good as the fabulous Beginners Book. Greg Horne has a great step by step approach to teach and guide the beginner and intermediate to really understand the Mandolin in various music styles. The recordings are clear, but most important is his systematic method of instructing.
