The design is creative and practical. I like that it combines the full functionality of a regular fan with something fun that can be easily incorporated into the decor. I am very happy with it!! Worth noting - when you are building it, there is a little extra piece that goes in the middle and makes the finish perfect. If you forget to put it on, you will have to undo the whole thing to add it. It was too much of a hassle so we just installed it without it… Maybe some day if it bothers me enough we will take it down to add it. I wanted to add the comment for anyone who buys it!! Pay attention to the double cover that hides the cables. You actually need both pieces. (When you start building it you will understand what I mean)

This fan is super cute! The box came pretty beat up but the packaging took most of the damage leaving just a slightly bent tailfin that was easy to bend back in place. The instructions are sparse and I ended up having to take it down a couple times to fix - here are the details to save you some trouble! 1. It comes with bolts for a concrete ceiling - if you are connecting to a junction box save the screws from your old fixture or get a couple meant for junction boxes. My screwheads were small so I use the flat washers between the screw and bracket. Instructions say to use the spring washers but they just went through the bracket so I skipped them. 2. Comes with two down rods so you can choose - my picture is with the longer one. 3. When putting the little fan on the tailfin, be careful which side is up - the fan blades will hit it if it is not pointing the right way. 4. Once the helicopter is assembled and down rod attached, put BOTH white cone pieces on - one pointing down to cover the down rod attachment to helicopter and one pointing up that will go below the dome piece that covers the wiring - this isn't in the instructions! 5. Once you've got everything wired, getting the dome piece up to cover the wires is tricky because the screws aren't quite long enough - unscrew them as far as possible before starting. 6. The remote battery cover doesn't attach flush once batteries are in place unfortunately and the remote holder does not come with any screws to mount to the wall. Assuming it lasts, I think the novelty factor and price point are worth a bit of assembly headache!
