Is there a minimum sized pipe this clamp will work on? Looking to use this on 1/2" galvanized pipe.

Jaws open to about 2.25" wide and will clamp onto a pipe with a 1.5" OD (largest pipe I have on Hand). So it should easily work on 1/2" galvanized pipe.

How do I tighten the ends of the arm so my equipment doesn’t flop around?

There's just one knob to tighten. The one at the elbow. Tightening that one also tightens the ball joints at the ends of the arm. It's very clever. That's why it's called a "Magic Arm".

The bolt joints at the end are loose even when I tighten the knob at the elbow. How can I set them in place?

Hi these clamps can only hold a certain amount of weight. If you trying to hold up a full frame camera with lens then it will droop. Also with use the knob will start to crack. I took off the plastic knob and replaced it with a wing nut.

Does this work on a light stand to use for a led tube light?

This particular one will not hold the light in a certain position. You would need a higher quality version. The ball joint has a very loose tolerance that can not handle even light weights.
