Bought the 16v 30va transformer, now how do I find a 16v 30va doorbell? Electrician says anything smaller will be fried by the transformer.

Just buy a 16v doorbell. Amazon sells them. The 30va is amount of power it can deliver. Doorbell will only draw the power it needs. 30va can power multiple doorbells or just one. I got this 30va model to power existing doorbell and a Ring video doorbell unit. Get a new electrician.

Is this fine for a standard door bell not a video bell?

It depends on your door bell, but most likely. Older doorbells require around 8 to 20 volts and newer doorbells require 8 to 24 volts. This 16V transformer is in the sweet spot where most doorbells would probably work. It swaps in easily if you are just removing an older broken transformer.

My indoor mechanical Chime is says 10-16 volts ac. Will this transformer be too much power and safe to install?
