Product description Review: Exceptionally Quite and Makes Ice Fast - I purchased a major appliance brand name table top ice maker a few years ago and it was so loud my wife refused to let me make ice when she was home. It sounds like an air compressor. But our high end refrigerator (same brand as the ice maker), will not make enough ice for the family. It is the worst freezer ice maker I have ever seen. So, I ended up buying ice anytime we have family over for a meal. When I saw the Gavasto ice maker I ordered it. I need ice and I need a machine that produces it quietly! Here are my thoughts on this ice maker: PROS: 1) It produces ice the exact same way as the main brand one but it does it quietly! The noise level is a little louder than a laptop fan motor. If you are within a few yards you can hear it whirring away. 2) It produces ice pretty fast and fills up the basket in an hour time frame. 3) Produces two sizes of cubes. I usually go with the larger cubes, but if you desire the smaller ones you have that option. 4) Very easy to use. Plug it in. Fill it with water. Turn it on. Select the size of cubes you want. That is it. CONS: 1) This and the same with the brand name one I purchased, does not keep the ice frozen. It is like a small cooler that just holds the ice in the bucket while the ice slowly melts. So, when the tray fills up you must dump the ice in the freezer or use it right away. 2) There is no way to attach the machine to a water supply so you must manually fill the unit with water before and during ice making. 3) With the first two cons stated it in turn means you cannot leave the ice machine alone for long. It requires constant babysitting. When the basket fills up the machine stops making ice and the ice in the basket will melt until the basket is not full and then will start again. If you want to make ice you have to monitor the unit all the time and dump the bucket into the freezer to keep it going. You also have to keep tabs on the amount of water because the machine will stop producing ice when the water level gets to low. So, not a start it and leave it and you will have 33 lbs of ice. One little basket at a time. CONCLUSION: If you do not mind having to monitor the ice production this machine will produce you a lot of ice in a few hours. It is quite and fairly fast, but you need to know that you can't start it and forget it and expect to have all this ice. It just is not designed for that type of ice production. RATING SYSTEM: I review a lot of products because I know reading other peoples reviews are very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale and I thought, "that is useful". When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important. Here is my rating scale: 5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone. 4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well. 3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great. 2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don't count on it. 1 Star: Trash. I can't see any useful purpose for the product. Review: Nice Ice Maker - This counter top ice maker works really well especially for the price. There are two different sizes to choose from and ice is ready to go very quickly. I have found that while making the ice if you allow it to sit for a bit in the machine it does start to take on the "pebble" or "crushed" ice texture which I love! It is solid and hard right away after being made and dispensed but when I would come get some out of the machine after it had been sitting for like 30 plus minutes it would be softer and crunchy and so good. The machine is a bit noisy so be aware that it is not super quiet and it does take up a fair amount of counter space. You will also need to clean it out every so often, but draining it and cleaning is very easy as it has a stopper at the bottom that you can pull out while holding over the sink. I got this closer to the winter so I stopped using it as much over these colder months, but I am looking forward to having it going more as spring and summer approach and I'm making iced coffees and teas every day.

Gavasto Ice Makers Countertop
I recently got this ice maker for my home office. Setting it up is super easy, pretty much plug and play. There is a water line indicator at the bottom. Filling it to the max line will give you more ice than the tray can hold. I thought that I would be able to leave it on all the time and the ice would keep but I don't believe the unit stays cold other than the ice making metal, so I think over time the ice would just melt back into the water reservoir. I timed it. You do get ice cubes pretty quickly which is cool, although the first set comes out pretty thin and they get thicker the more the machine gets. My biggest harp about it is that the unit doesn't seem to be able to control the water very well, so when I pulled the ice tray out, the ice was covered in water because the machine pushes water onto the ice when it moves the ice cubes into the tray. It was easy to drain that back to the bottom but this will cause the ice cubes to stick together in my freezer which will make it harder to just get a scoop of ice out. Luckily I have a mini fridge with a freezer, but if you don't, just note you may not be able to leave the ice cubes in there at all times. In terms of noise, it sounds like a loud fan when running and water trickling through. It's not terrible but after a while I did get tired of it. It took a bit over an hour to fill the ice tray which is not bad. I kind of wish it came with two trays so I could make more ice while my stockpile is in the freezer but I might just get a different tray to put in the freezer. Overall it's a pretty good buy, just not quite a 5 star product.

Makes Ice Fast.
It's amazing how fast this makes ice. Every few minutes it will produce a load (9) of bullet shaped "cubes". You can choose if you want large or small bullets. The reservoir will hold 34 ounces of water. The machine has an automatic shut off when the basket is full but there will still be a lot of water left for more bullets so if you want the unit to continue to make ice you need to empty the basket. The first time I made ice, I filled a number of large plastic freezer bags to store in anticipation of use in the future. The ice maker is larger than I thought it would be. Not a problem but I will probably move the ice maker to the basement and bring it out when we have visitors, or the warm weather and cold drinks come back. The construction of the maker seems to be very high quality. The unit looks nice in the kitchen. It is a little heavy which did not surprise me as it incorporates refrigeration to make ice and to help in keeping the ice frozen in the catch basket. It has a constant fan noise that is not overpowering but is noticeable. Additionally, every 5 or 6 minutes, a new batch of 9 ice cubes are dropped on the loading ramp and moved into the basket. This process does make noise but again, not annoying but could be if you are trying to sleep.

Louder than expected
This is our first ice maker and it's a little louder than expected. This could be bothersome if you are a light sleeper. The ice it makes is a small or large "bullet" type which is cooler than regular freezer ice. This maker automatically shuts off when the bin is full but has prematurely shut off several times due to the ice getting stuck. We were initially going to keep this on our counter 24/7 but due to the noise and constant moving the ice will only bring out when needed.

Cute Ice Maker
This ice maker is smaller than my last one but still makes ice quickly. It's a pretty blue color and was a huge hit over the holidays. Everyone loved having constant ice for all the drinks. Really easy to set up - just a quick run through with clean water and it was good to go. It was a little louder than my last one but nothing terrible. This makes the rounded solid ice, not the crushed sonic ice. It's amazing!

Makes ice fast but is a bit loud
UPDATE: After a couple months this completely stopped making ice. I have tried to contact the company and have received no answer. The ice maker is quiet while it isn't making ice and can be a bit loud while it is making ice. This ice maker doesn't hold very much ice. If you are wanting a lot of ice for a gathering you will want to empty the basket and put it in your freezer. The ice continues to melt in the ice maker and will stick together. I like that the ice is more chewy and has a nice texture. This is easy to refill when you run out of water, simply lift the basket and pour more water in the base. There is a line inside the base to help you know how much water to put inside. I do have a tendency to spill water all over the counter when I take the basket out to refill. I was surprised how big this ice maker is and you will need a lot of counter space. It isn't supposed to sit close to a wall because it needs a lot of ventilation. Overall I like this but I don't like how big, loud, and how little ice it holds at a time.
