Beyond Pemberley: Timeless Regency Collection, Book 20

Adored this book! I love stories based on beloved Pride & Prejudice. This fabulous collection tells the charming, romantic stories of three secondary characters from the favorite classic. I thoroughly enjoyed going Beyond Pemberley & seeing what happens next. Playing Miss Bennet by Rebecca Anderson is Kitty’s engaging story. She’s experiencing London as Mrs. Gordon’s companion & meets a flirty, supposed rake. Augustus Haverford’s adopted a roguish personality to fend off marriage, but when he meets Kitty, he’s smitten by the woman who doesn’t easily fall for his charms. But, Kitty’s having an identity crisis. Who is she & which sisters’ personality should she adopt? I loved the romance between Kitty & Augustus. It was fun seeing Kitty try on her different sisters’ personalities only to discover she’s perfect just as she is. I loved how both she & Augustus are putting on a facade only to learn they’re best when they’re themselves. Sisters and Second Chances by Samantha Hastings is the lovely second chance story of 32 year old Lydia who’s now older & wiser after Wickham’s death. When she rescues a viscount’s daughter from a fate similar to her own, she wins the admiration of Chloe’s widowed father. I enjoyed seeing Lydia more mature, but still retaining her spark of fun. She makes Viscount Kingston’s & Chloe’s life so full & may find the love & acceptance she’s always wanted. The Colonel’s Conviction by Sarah L. McConkie is Darcy’s cousin, Colonel Fitzwilliam’s story. As Georgiana’s experiencing her first season in London, Benj falls for her feisty companion. Clara takes on the role of companion while struggling to figure out her estate’s debts left by her deceased, wastrel husband & can’t afford to fall for a charming second son. I thoroughly loved Colonel Fitzwilliam from P&P & enjoyed seeing his character more fleshed out. He’s witty, delightful, romantic & a definite temptation in this reverse grumpy sunshine romance. Loved seeing Darcy in this one too! Highly recommend, especially to P&P fans!

I really loved these 3 stories in one book. They let us know what all of our favorite people from Pride and Prejudice were doing later. Sweet stories!

I loved all three of these novellas. Each gave a new perspective and depth to a side character from pride and prejudice. The first story was about Katherine Bennet “Kitty” and her struggles to find out who she was without being overshadowed by her 4 sisters.. The second one is about Lydia. She is now widowed and much more mature. Her struggles through a Loveless’s marriage has taught her plenty. This was my favorite because Lydia was my least favorite character in pride and prejudice and this story shows her in a new light. You can’t help but love her. The last story is about Colonel Fitzwilliam. I liked him in pride and prejudice and was happy to read a story where he got a happy ending.

This book is full of errors and necessary edits, is lacking in any sense of the historical period or the etiquette of the era. I would not read read it again.

This was a wonderful collection of novellas , each about a character from Pride and Prejudice. All three were so good and I stayed up way too late reading. My favorite had to be Kitty and Augustus . Loved their swoon worthy romance, funny playful talks and the sweet life lesson of being your true self and you will be loved. Look forward to reading more books like this.

Wonderful regency series!

These stories are linked to Pride and Prejudice. They have a individual flavor and characteristics unique to each story. I spent 32 years with the US Army so have some experience with military matters. Including health issues from military service.

What a delight to see Kitty and Lydia redeem themselves and the colonel find his love match. All truly great stories that I have been recommending to many.
