We were looking for battery operated candles with remote to place in the windows of our church during Advent. These look like they will fit the bill nicely. If you've shopped for LED candles at all, you already know that there are basically 2 kinds: (1) a fixed LED "flame" that flickers, or (2) the "dancing flame" candles that have a flame shaped reflector that moves around and simulates the way candles wave with air currents. We have quite a few of the fixed flame kind and they simply don't look like real candle flames. Also, they are very often powered by small disc batteries that won't produce a bright enough light for daytime use.The term "dancing flame" is not a standardized descriptor and anyone could use the term, but it is used most often with the movable flame reflectors. It's also the term most often used in ads for high end candles that cost $30 - $60 for each candle which use the same technology as these candles. In testing them out, I noted that while there is a Candle setting and a Light setting both with levels of brightness, a good moving flame effect happens only at high power and the Light setting. The Candle setting seems to enable only the flickering effect like fixed flame candles without the random variance of the moving flame.Pros: 2-AA batteries (not included) power each candle with enough output to be used in daylight Same type of moving flame as expensive LED candles at a fraction of the price All 12 worked perfectly when tested Nice wax candle appearance, not like plastic Multi-function remote control included -- handy if they're going up on high shelves Well packaged to avoid damage Did I mention the price?Cons: Would like to see the moving flame effect at lower light settings for dark rooms Would like to see more size availability and colors of the candles.We haven't yet tested the battery life, but expect that the AA's will last throughout Advent without having to change batteries. If not, I'll updated this post.If the size (4" H X 3"W) and the color (Ivory, not white) suit you, these are highly recommended. Don't forget to add a big box of Amazon Basics AA's since you'll need 24 for these 12 candles.

What can I say they are the flickering flame candles that you buy at pottery barn… Although instead of getting 12 you get one at pottery barn… I buy things almost everything for my house, including my pets on Amazon. Literally I rarely go out to stores anymore… And I got to say this is one of the best things I have ever bought on Amazon… I know it's a silly item to say that about… But the price for the quality I can't say enough. And the remote just kicks it up that extra amount it's just really cool!!I even gave some out as gifts for Christmas and although normally a candle wouldn't get much of a mention my family went on about these!Well-made! Real wax not plastic on the outside! Long lasting! Extremely realistic! I was using small "real" candles in little glass jars inside my lanterns and hated that I had to "light them, then later blow them out" when I wanted to use them. A lady on YouTube recommended these candles in several of her videos so I bit the bullet and ordered them. I simply love them! They look so real. These are the perfect size for these particular lanterns and I will find many uses for the remainder of my candles. I have put batteries in 6 of the candles so far and they all work wonderfully either manually on/off or with the remote. It's wonderful to pick up the little remote and "click" they are on, or, can set them to work on timer, which I did set on the 2 hour timer and it went off at the right time and come on at the same time the next day. I highly recommend these candles! No matches required, no live flame to worry about, no blowing them out.....lol. Wonderful!!!!! I have only had them for a few days, so I can't comment on battery life. But I always keep plenty of high end AA batteries in storage and it's no big deal to change them out when needed.

Love these....they are my first flameless candles and they are amazing. They look real. The "wicks" actually move and they produce as much light as a real candle. The remote is the exact same one as my remote for my Pier 1 battery operated string lights. You can dim them and set them on a timer. Would definitely recommend, they are a good quality and the price was great too.

So I bought these candles, and upon opening the box, I can tell you that I thought I was getting exactly what I wanted... Then I put in the batteries and couldn’t be more wrong. I had another set of candles that were recently purchased for me from a friend. After turning these on, they had a much more contrasting white color to their flame as opposed to a soft “yellowish” glow. then I noticed that the flame didn’t even move. There was no fan in them to cause a flicker of any kind. I could understand a broken fan in one of them, but none of them had a flicker. It was a white light shining on a white piece of plastic that didn’t move. The were only made tolerable by placing them next to my other candles and camouflage the serious lack of candle action but the difference in color was noticeable. Get them at your own risk... I am probably going to be returning mine.

Love these candles they work wonderfully and look like a real candle , my items were packaged very well and arrived to me in good condition
