Awesome, high-quality product, extremely happy with this, but one word of caution...
I'm extremely happy with this product. I just got done using it for the first time. The kit snaps together with the battery/head unit very easily, you can get to work lickety-split. It cuts through bushes/hedges like butter. Also...CORDLESS! What a concept. Some reviewers have commented about potentially needing an extension. Personally I'm happy with the length - I don't think I'll consider any additional extension pole, however I'm not afraid to get on a 6' ladder. My one word of caution - overall the head and trimmer attachment combo is HEAVY, especially when used overhead. Fatigue sets in quickly. I can't foresee ever using this tool alone - I envision using this to supplement a hand-held hedge trimmer where needed. Aside from the word of caution about the weight, I can't recommend this enough.

Excellent Quality, Very Adjustable, Great Trimmer
I bought this attachment for my EGO Power+ power head to...well...trim some stuff. I needed to trim a few small (less than 1 inch diameter) broken limbs off a couple trees and to prune some holly shrubs/trees that had gotten rather heroic in reaching for the sky.As with all other EGO tools I've gotten, this trimmer was very well packaged. I was surprised at the quality of the trimmer. The only trimmer blades I'd seen before were on the basic trimmers you would get at a chain hardware store. The blades on this trimmer were far more substantial...and sharrper. See attached picture.Next pleasant finding was how adjustable the blade is. It can be attached to the power head (or the extender attachment) so that you can trim either horizontally or vertically--nice for trimming the top or sides of hedges. You can also change the angle of the blade with 12 different settings (second picture). That's very helpful when trying to reach around things or when you need to trim at an angle.I attached the blade to the EGO extension pole I had gotten to let me reach high spots. It took a couple of tries before I found the right angle, because it can be attached for either vertical or horizontal cutting. Once I got it on, I trimmed the high branches I needed to remove. One of them was over half an inch in diameter, but the blade had no problems with it (power head motor was set to low speed). Once done with that, I removed the extension, changed the angle, and pruned the holly trees. Again, worked great with no issues. The only change I would have like to have seen is for the shaft to be made of carbon fiber to make it lighter and strong. And to make it match how the power head looks :-) Definitely not worth deducting a star, though.I'm quite happy with this and would definitely purchase it again knowing what I know and having used it.

Ego never disappoints!
This is one powerful pole edge trimmer! So far it has ran through every hedge in my yard like a hot knife through butter. It definitely can handle 1" diameter branches. Once again Ego has produced a battery powered piece of equipment that is just as powerful as it's gas counterparts. The head is adjustable to just about any angle you will need and like everything Ego, the adjustment is as simple, no screws or bolts, you just squeeze the lever and adjust it. I used a 2.5Ah battery and it was enough to do an hour of trimming and still had plenty of juice to use the leaf blower to clean up after. The main complain I am seeing is about the weight and that it is unwieldy. To that I say, no kidding, it's a pole hedge trimmer. It's weight is pretty comparable to most gas ones. I tried popping in the 7.5Ah battery and yea then it gets a bit bottom heavy, but not crazy. With the 2.5Ah battery it feels just right. If you want a hedge trimmer that is lightweight and more precise then you want a handheld trimmer which Ego also sells. If you need to trim very tall and/or deep shrubs, then this is what you want. And yea they are a bit heavier and take some practice to use.

Not a single use tool, weight and balance are an issue
Like all my Ego tools this one feels solid and well made. However, I wouldn't consider this a sole hedge trimming solution. I would suggest you have a lighter and more maneuverable second trimmer in addition to this one as needed.Pros: for extended reach needs this tool is excellent. I have those issues. Run time is excellent, the cutting force is outstanding.Cons: heavy and difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. This head on this is cast aluminum I believe and with the blade is ungainly and after using for any more than 20 mintues you will need to be fit to keep going. It is unbalanced as well. The heavy head/blade end required my heaviest battery, a 7.5 Ah on the opposite end to counter balance the tool. This added to the overall weight substantially and gave me quite a workout reaching overhead for tall branches.I'm going to try using the Ego commercial backpack rig I have to see what effect that has. And will update.

No more cord!!!!
Powerful, flexible and effective. Soooo much better than a corded trimmer.

It works great!
The hedge trimmer is completely adjustable. It turns to a 90 degree angle to cut the top flat and I don't have to stand on a ladder to reach the top. It cuts through woody branches no problem as long as it fits in the cutting blade. EGO is 56v and has plenty of power to slice through. I have to work on my skill and hold the blade steady and follow through. The good part about trimming hedges, if you make mistakes, it will grow back.

Works Great - Be careful, super sharp!
While I have an electric head trimmer, it is a pain to get out and put away the extension cord. This works great. It is a bit heavy, but I LOVE the adjustable head.Watch out, the cutting surfaces/edges are SHARP! While I have used it a lot without incident, I recently sliced my finger pretty good when I grazed the cutting edge while loading it into my vehicle for my mother to borrow.
