So Happy I Made This Purchase!!!
My plant arrived on time today and it’s a beauty! It is over a foot tall not including the root area. The 6 very big, main leaves, and two tiny ones at the growing tip are green and look fresh as a daisy! They had removed the plant from it’s container and carefully wrapped the root ball with soil in paper first with a plastic bag tied around it. I immediately transferred it into a gallon container because The garden area where it will go into won’t be ready for a week or more.I found out some very interesting facts about the procera by looking at the website “Plants for a Future.” Some of the intriguing facts are these:Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils, prefers well-drained soil and can grow in nutritionally poor soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils and can grow in saline soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It prefers dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought. The plant can tolerates strong winds but not maritime exposure. The juice of the plant is poisonous - it may irritate your skin when you plant it - I used bare hands and had no issues but I made sure to wash my hands afterwards. That said, on another site it said that in Hawaii they use the flowers of this plant to make leis. I can’t wait to see those flowers for myself!!!In some countries they use the stem to make fishing nets because of it ability to retain strength in the water. There are tons of other uses and such but I’ll sign off here by saying that I am exceptionally happy with my purchase and can’t wait to see the great plant grow and offer a source of leaves for those monarchs!

Gorgeous plant received right out of the box!
This product had good reviews but I was skeptical ordering through Amazon for a plant. My plant is even better than the other reviews!!! This is a beautiful, well cared for, well packaged, established milkweed.I have shopped online from reputable nurseries and it is to be expected that a plant shipped in a dark package will look fairly poor until a few days later. Not this plant! The pics I took were about 5 minutes after opening the pkg. It is large already! Wow! What a beauty. So glad I took a chance!

Just perfect.
I had seen these plants at a local plant nursery. They wanted $70.00 for a sickly 10 gallon pot. So I ordered thesefrom Educational Science to give them a try in my butterfly garden. they arrived fast!!! and in very good shape. I planted them in a larger pot and put them in my greenhouse since I wanted to make sure that they had a good survival rate. Well after about a month I noticed that all the leaves were almost gone. After close examination I found the problem. The plants must have had a butterfly egg on them a huge caterpillar was eating them. So I transplanted the caterpillar to the butterfly garden and now it has been a month and the plants are growing very well and all the leaves are back plus more. I have been very pleased with these plants. If you are not knowledgeable about milkweed make sure you read up on it before you purchased. You to may receive a milkweed eating caterpillar on your plants. Thanks Educational Science for your healthy plants and the caterpillar too.!!!!!!

Disappointed in what was shipped to me
Waited many months to do a review because I received this plant barefooted with only 3 leaves on top and a long bare stem. I was hoping it would fill in over time so I could give a better review. Gave it sun, fertilizer, water and care. It grew new leaves and old ones yellowed and fell off. No new leaves ever grew on this long bare stem. Disappointed to read from some other reviews that fuller plants were received in the mail. I got a dud but I also understand that others received plants that then died so my anemic plant continues to exist.

Arrived perfectly. Packaged very well.
****UPDATE ****The plants are coming along nicely. Growing beautifully. One VERY happy customerI was so happy to receive my plants yesterday. They were beautifully packaged. The leaves had a little stress on them but that is expected due to travel and shock. I am more than pleased with these.I was especially happy to see a couple of the leaves had been munched on ❤ made my heart happy

had to keep netting on it initially
Finally starting to grow nicely. Had to use netting initially to keep my monarch caterpillars and others off to give it a chance to grow. Looking good

This plant is doing fabulous!
It was just as it was described and has already gotten new leaves and is growing great. I appreciate knowing that it is not freeze tolerant so I planted it in a large pot and will bring it inside during the cold months. I order a lot of plants mail order and so often they arrive as a stick. This was leafy and green and about 6 to 8 inches. Very happy with it.
