Bought for gift but sent to my home address. Came well packaged and undamaged but shipped to the wrong address

No regrest buying this pack. I bought this for my nephews (who are 10 and 11 by the way) and they love it! I like that I can teach them how to play, make them read the cards (increase comprehension), and have them use critical thinking (which is very important in life in general) for strategies.The kit comes with two ready-to-play 60 card decks, instruction manuals for each, and a spindown die for each player. The cards are setup to play right out of the box as-is without shuffling. This means new players are able to learn game mechanics quickly and in an orderly manner to develop concepts and strategies. I highly recommend this product as a gift for someone who wants to play Magic or who loves trading card games in general. This set is not for veteran players (obviously) but it does have decent rares in the set for someone looking to add to their existing library.

This was a neat and very affordable way to start MTG. You're instructed not to shuffle the decks right away because the cards are in a preset order to match the quick start guides. It's like playing a game tutorial or almost like someone teaching you the rules as you play. Very clever. The guides cover the first 5 turns playing the decks against each other. There's also a regular rule book, and it's pretty short, so not too much to remember like in YuGiOh or something. There are also two 20 sided dice. They function also as your life point counter.Downsides: The packaging was damaged, like others seem to have experienced, but the content itself seemed fine, so shouldn't be an issue for a cheap starter set. I also wish there was some kind of playing mat, but I guess it's not really necessary since the game layout is pretty simple anyway.

I inferred from reading the description of this set that it came with 2 distinct packs of cards: One Red/White deck and one Green/Black deck. IT DID NOT! It came with 2 Red/White decks. I thought using a starter set with pre-constructed decks would be the easiest way to teach my Grandson how to play Magic. Imagine our disappointment when the set arrived and we could not play though the instructions as written.Amazon, however, replaced the defective set VERY quickly with the proper set and my grandson is quickly learning and enjoy the game. This has, as I thought, been a very good way to start out a beginner. The only reason it lost one star is due to our original issues.

This set is exactly what you need if you are interested in Magic the Gathering but have no idea where to start. It comes with two premade decks, scoring dice, and EXCELLENT step-by-step instructions to guide you through your first game. Pay attention to the instruction not to shuffle the decks before the first time you play!! The instructions assume the cards coming out in the order they ship in. After that, you can shuffle them at will and continue to learn with these simple and nicely balanced decks until you're ready to branch out and try other cards. A VERY good value that was EXACTLY what I was looking for. The instructions were so good that it only took that one first game for my wife and I to understand the rules and be able to play on our own.

This is a great product for a first introduction to Magic the Gathering. Neither my wife or I had ever played, but this set comes with a predetermined set cards on top of each deck and guide to step you through the first 5 to 6 rounds. After a few hands we're both hooked. The dual color decks are fun, rarely are two games the same.There are a few cons. There are few cards and mechanics that are not really explained. For example, we didn't know enchantments last more than one turn. The guides don't mention tapped abilities, at least that we could find. Lastly, we both feel that the green/black deck is way better than the red/white deck.

I played MTG years and years ago and wanted to introduce it to my children. I still have those huge boxes full of cards from fallen empires, ice age, stronghold, and others but wanted a new set to catch back up to the rules. For the price you cannot beat getting two decks with instructions, and two life counters. If you are looking to teach yourself and/or others how to play this is what you want.

Pretty good as starter deck and theyre even standard atm. The cards have a set order to teach and play but all you you really need to do is find the first 10 cards which the game straightup tells in the little booklets to follow. You wont win any tournaments with these but great start

La mejor opción para empezar a jugar en este gran juego de estrategia. Está muy bien para aquellos que quieran aprender a jugar este juego. Sobre los decks, están balanceados, (Salvo que el verde/negro se siente más fuerte) pero ambos tienen conters del otro. El blanco/rojo trata de hacer daño directo e intenta ganar la partida de manera rápida controlando al oponente con puros hechizos de daño , el verde/negro trata de tener grandes creaturas que devastan al enemigo con un simple ataque, además de aumentar el poder de esas criaturas.Remarcó que ambos decks tienen conters del otro, haciendo que al jugar con ambos deks este balanceado la partida
