Blunt Force Trauma

If you are into the subject at hand and like heavy southern doomy swamp music then you'll dig this. A few of the members where in great stoner rock/doom projects that definitely showcase their talents. Wretched (Maryland) Spirit Caravan, Vortex of Insanity(thrash) and Earthride to name a few. A few tracks worth a good listen are One Hit Wonder and Alligator Crawl.

This has to be the worst cd that you could ever hear. The lyrics are down right stupid! And the music is all similar from front to back and it is hard to tell where one track ends and the other begins. It is doom metal at it's worst!

Heavy, but FUNNY. Don't let the drug and sex lyrics fool you - there's serious musical muscle marshaled here. Longtime musical cohorts Gary Isom and Dave Sherman, 2/3 of the original Spirit Caravan, man different instruments on this project. Isom shows off his raucous, inspired blues guitar and Sherman is solely a front man here, setting aside the bass for a bong micstand. Sherman's vocals take some frequent knocks - its too guttural, there's no musicality in his pipes, and so on. Sherm will never be mistaken for a vocal virtuoso, but the variety of sounds he pulls from his admitted limited singing is awesome and a ton of personality shines through. He, at least half the time, sounds as deranged as the lyric. Highlights: "Alligator Crawl", "Goin' Down To Harlem", and the band's paean to the joys of oral love, "Eat P*****".
