Good price, great results
I was looking for an inexpensive, yet worthy means to drill large-ish holes to pass media and power cords through a shelving unit and drywall (for a wall-mounted TV). Nothing fancy here, but decent Black & Decker quality components. Easy to set up the various size hole saws with the pilot bit. The materials cut were not much of a challenge (masonite press-board and drywall), but the hole saws worked perfectly at a very reasonable price. Delivery within two days made it a much better proposition than driving out to the hardware store and paying more.

Black & Decker 71-120 Hole Saw Assortment, 5-Piece
I previously had a set of these Hole Saw kit, I'm not sure what brand to they were, anyway these are stuff that I hardly use, so the first kit which was of very good quality disappeared, most likely by a borrower not returning them. However recently I need one in a pinch to install a door lock which required a hole of one and one quarter inch to be drilled through the door. I must say when you have Prime Shipping with Amazon; purchases of this kind is akin to running down to the corner hardware store. I saw this set and was amazed at how cheap it was, it arrived very quickly. It performed well and got the job done, except for one thing , there is a little set screw that holds the saw firmly on the drill bit, after the job was completed, I observed that it came loose. So now I have get me an Allen wrench set, to tighten that's screw before it's next use. I am one that does not excuse bad "quality control" by manufacturers of any product. That screw being loose could have caused an accident and possible injury to me the user, the "saw section" could have dangerously flew off the drill bit. I still gave the product rating a four-stars,because of its very cheap price, I'm just a bit cautious in regards to the screw loosening on first time I used it, hopefully that not a trend of "sloppiness" by the manufacturer.

I needed these to drill holes into PVC pipes for ...
I needed these to drill holes into PVC pipes for some strawberry towers. Since there are no instructions I had to fiddle around with it to finally figure out how to secure the pieces together. Overall these did the job and I had no issues sawing holes through PVC piping. Also the drill bit and the nut do come loose every now and then, but I just had my allen wrench around to tighten the drill bit and tightened the nut by hand.

I used it to cut into a plastic washer tray
It was my first time using a hole saw and a drill. I had to cut a whole in a plastic washer tray and connect the drain (it's so my washing machine on the second floor won't accidentally flood the room). How it works is you put one of the hole saw pieces onto the mandrel and then connect it to a drill (drill sold separately). I had to learn the hard way how it really works. The mandrel thing has a drill bit on it and that's what is used to cut the hole where you want it. I thought at first, I will first use one of the small hole saw pieces to make a small hole to see where the drain is, then use the bigger hole saw piece to make my final hole. However, I could no longer make the final hole after making the small hole because the drill bit of the mandrel could no longer grip onto anything since I already cut a small hole. It is probably impossible to cut a hole with this tool if the drill bit has nothing to grip on to (I tried and couldn't get it done). I did some quick thinking and just put the washer tray over a stack of cardboard, then used the hole saw to cut my final hole (the drill bit of the mandrel used the cardboard to grip onto to make the hole where i needed it. I don't consider myself to be a handy person but I was able to figure out how to use this even though there were no directions. And I installed my washer tray on my own.

B&D 71-120 5 Piece Hole Saw Kit
You get what you pay for. I had to drill some larger holes for new door handles in some older doors. They work, but not the greatest. The teeth are not very sharp, but will put a hole in wood. You have to go in short bursts, and clean the teeth quite a bit. It worked for what I needed it too, and only had to do 2 doors. For $9, I would have rather bought the one size hole saw I need from a quality perspective. These are good for the hobbyist, not the guy doing a major renovation. They work nicely in plywood or particle board and drywall. It took a while to drill through a 1950's era door. Probably harder wood in the old doors. I would recommend these to someone that only needs to drill a few holes. If you are going to drill more than 3-4, spend the money and get a good set from DeWalt or Milwaukee.

Great bargain for occasional use.
Hey, it is cheap but I needed something to drill a hole in a shelf to insert a grommet to handle my electronic cords for tablets, phones, laptop, eBook reader that I plug in every night so that the empty cords would not fall through. Then I used another size to drill some holes in the back of a console supporting my HDTV and holding my cable box and DVD player, etc. behind glass doors. The cable box would get too hot and shut down. The 4 holes at the top of the back solved the ventilation problem. Then I used another to drill a starter hole in a wall to run a wire to a new electrical outlet. This was cheaper than buying just one expensive hole cutter. And it is still useful. Yes, it is cheap steel and has limits in how long the teeth will last but it has done way more than its cost for me and I expect to get a lot more use out of the set.

What you need to increase size of door handle or deadbolt hole
I wanted to install a new deadbolt in my front door but needed to increase the size of the hole. The solution was this kit. Using the size of the existing hole INSIDE the size I needed to drill out created a a brace so the finished hole was perfect.

Great for piercing holes of various diameters in plastic boxes
Used it for making holes in plastic buckets, plastic boxes, containers for gardening. I was initially prudent and put lower speed on my drill, but it took too long and was melting the plastic! When I increased the speed, it was faster and no time to melt. Some of the removed plastic circle got stuck in the saw, and needed to be removed with a knife (after unplugging of course). Easy enough, but needs to be done before next hole, or the heat, again, melts the plastic down. Apart for this, great!

Did the job
Bought this specifically to just put a 2 inch hole in a laminate MDF tabletop. The tabletop was 1 inch thick. This did the job but barely. It was smoking like crazy in the dewalt. But since it was the cheapest / best rated version at the time. And it came with 3 others, figured why not. I don't think I could cut another 2 inch hole.

Mala calidad
