Interesting
A young man gave a talk on the history of the Catholic church. He told us that this was a great reference. It is brief but he is right. As a new Catholic, it really intrigued me.

Very helpful to a convert
The book was excellent in helping me understand the history of my new faith. As an adult convert, the history of our faith was a bit of a mystery to me and this book gives great insight, in a condensed manner, of our history.

Making the history of Catholic Church easier to understand
Dr. Alan Schreck is a well-known Catholic writer. I learn from each of his books and share them with others. The Compact History of the Catholic Church is one of his best. He presents the Church's history is an easy-to-understand way. Still, slow reading is needed to grasp the connections of dates and persons. Dr. Schreck helps the reader with those connections by his concise writing. Volumes have been written on the history of the Catholic Church. Dr. Schreck does wonders in making it understandable.

An Easy To Understand Book !!
Very well written by Dr. Schreck! I bought this same book some years ago when it first came out. I really like the updates in it. I think it is very comprehensive and you really have to read it slowly to try to come to a profitable understanding but is laid out in very easy to understand form. I recommend it highly!!!

Very interesting.
Being a convert to the Catholic Church, I didn't know a lot of the early history. This book is very concise and definitely gives me a good overview of Church history from its beginning. I have found it to be very interesting. I am only up to the eighth century but plan to finish it as I find time.
