In the process of looking for an evening gown to wear on a cruise, specifically in plum, I found this one. The style is great for me, because I am 5'6" and slightly long-waisted, weighing about 148.I usually wear a 10 in an evening gown, and this dress runs true to size. When I ordered it, there were no 10's available, so I ordered it in a 12. Even though the 12 was too large on me, it still hug very nicely, and draped perfectly.It is extremely well-made and the fabric is just so beautiful. The lace top is not stiff or scratchy at all. In fact, it is very soft and stretchy and feels very good next to your skin. The sequins is beautifully embedded in the lace fabric, giving it a very sophisticated and elegant look. There are French darts that form the waist-skimming look of the top part, giving it a slimmer look.The skirt has an under layer of solid fabric with an over-layer of chiffon, no gathering. It is very flattering and very slimming. If you have a thick waist or a tummy that you are trying to disguise, this is definitely a dress you should look at seriously. The structure completely hides any issues like that.Even though the marketing photos show the dress well above her ankle, it actually came down to the floor on me. I ordered it in an average length, not the petite, and I needed to remove 2 or 3 inches of length to get it just right. It is indeed a long floor-length gown. The skirt is A-line in shape. but drapes nicely to a slim look.I highly recommend.

This is the PERFECT evening dress! I spent nearly 10 months searching for a pretty, simple and flattering dress to wear to my niece's wedding. I would never have anticipated that this would present such a challenge! The main problem is that there basically are NO styles suitable and becoming for older women. There appear to be two extremes: either shift or sheath dresses which cling and reveal everything you do not want revealed, or 'fit and flare' dresses which have a nice top and waist but crinoline puffy skirts which make any woman look FAT. Then, there are the problems with plunging necklines, slits up the legs, low backs, etc. I am 60 years old. For reference I am 5' 1" and weigh 118 lbs. My measurements are 34-28-36. I am about 8 pounds heavier than way back in college. I have always worn a size 6 petite. That is another issue; it is exceedingly difficult to find petite dresses that aren't designed for women in their 20s and 30s. This dress looks good and feels good. With low heels (2 inches) the hem is the perfect length; another plus. This dress did not require any alterations, AND I purchased it at a bargain price! The jewel neckline is just right and the back comes down in a V, but not too low. It has a nice long zipper and is easy to get on and off, not like some of the other dresses I tried. One, I struggled to get out of for twenty minutes in my bathroom. The bodice is pretty, decorated, just lightly with sequins and the skirt flows nicely with a classic A line hem. It has a chiffon layer over the polyester layer. One reviewer complained that the material was shoddy. But MOST clothes these days are not made from gorgeous, expensive silks, satins, real velvets, etc. That was a generation(s) ago. And, the color is lovely. Originally, I was looking for a burgundy/cranberry red dress which is my favorite color and looks best on me, but the 'plum' color is exquisite. One reviewer described it as more like 'merlot wine'. It's more purple than wine color. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Bought this for a Spring wedding. The color is a darker blue than I expected. The fit is perfect for those who like fitted clothes. (My personal preference is for a little looser fit.) I'm not short, 5'7" and the hem hits the floor.

1st time I bought a dress online - looked great - dress as described. Got lots of compliments on it. Wore to my son't wedding. I liked the style as the sleeves cover my arms but are not full length, no separate jacket to worry about, V neck in the back is pretty, sequined top looks fancy and also covers small belly imperfections!Label recommends not wearing jewelry with it to prevent snags - so I stuck with just earrings and it was fine.

Very happy with this dress. I haven't worn it to the event yet (my son's wedding) but it's perfect. I'm between a 12 and a 14, 5' 6", 165 pounds. This dress in size 12, with the stretch lace top, is snug but still comfy. It's very slimming. I tried on the 14 and it was a bit roomy but could also have worked. The wedgwood color is perfect with my brown hair. The icy orchid color is a muted shade and not the best choice for my coloring or my age (mid 60's) but it's also a lovely color. The dress arrived quickly, packaged well, in perfect shape. It's well made. Very pleased.

A very nice, pretty formal gown. I wanted something conservative but not dowdy. This one works. I am 5 feet tall (125 lbs) so, even with 2 inch heels, I may need to take it up about a half inch but that's okay. It doesn't seem to wrinkle. It's lightweight but not see through at all. I am 38D on top and the Petite 10 just fits, if that's helpful to anyone. Thank you to other shoppers who wrote their reviews before me. I used them and I got the fit that I needed. I bought this dress for my son’s wedding. I got it in sage. It was beautiful! I got a lot of compliments. For the price, I was very pleased with this purchase. I’m 5’4” 270lbs. I bought it in a 24W. It is hard for me to be happy with any dress at my size but I felt comfortable in this dress. I recommend it.

I am 5' 5", 162 lbs, "older", and a bit frumpy looking. I got a size 14 and the fit is great, and although I will never look like the pretty model in the picture, the dress actually looks very nice on me -- less frumpy, for sure. I got the Wedgewood Blue color -- really pretty. It is also a very comfortable dress. The top part has a tiny bit of stretch to it and moves nicely. I don't usually spend this much on clothing for myself, but this was a special occasion and I am very happy with the purchase and the investment. Will definitely wear it again.

I liked everything about this dress. In particular, I was pleased that the colour of the material was the same as the picture and the dress was nicely finished off. Perfect length too. The fit was perfect, it’s so comfortable, and I love that I can dress it up or down. I liked the navy one so much, I ordered two more colours! I am bringing the navy one to my daughter’s wedding this Spring in case it gets chilly, it will be beautiful with lovely with my dress. Someone else had mentioned about washing by hand. My washer has a great delicate cycle and I use mesh laundry bags for really gentle items with much luck. I’m going to try that and will let you know how it goes...

I'm usually a size 10- 12 in Canada but I used the Alex Evening measurement guide to order -and it said size 14. It was too big so I ordered both the 10 and the 12 and ended up with the 10. This is a very flattering dress with stretch in the bodice. I'm a 60 year woman and I bought the dress for my son's upcoming wedding. This dress is very classy with just enough bling to make me feel special but not overstated.

Purchased this dress for my son’s wedding in December. Good quality, nice fit. A little disappointed in the length, longer than what picture shows. It’s 3/4 length. However, still looks elegant. Paired it with silver shoes for December month. Very good price as well.

This dress is lovely. I bought it for the celebration of renewing my wedding vows after 38 years so it was important that it be perfect. It fit and felt wonderful.
