Works Well !
Very Easy to use ... 1st time I didn't have food all the way in the back of the trap so the trap door landed on it's tail and the skunk was able to get away. I learned and put the bait on the back of the trigger plate and bam! got 'em. Took a large container, filled it with water and set the trap w/skunk in it for a few hours. Dumped the container, removed the front door, put a heavy duty large trash bag in place and emptied the trap/skunk in it and discarded the skunk into my trash. There was a little odor. Handling the trap, the skunk didn't spray, as advertised. Bait used - 1st time peanut butter & oatmeal...2nd time granola & bacon bits. There is another one that make its rounds on my patio, he's next! Overall it took 3 weeks as they weren't on my patio every night. I put the trap next to the patio & house where the Ring camera would show the walked at night.

Works outstanding with the right bait.
Brace it so it can't be rolled over and Skunk escape. They get to moving around and if it rolls, they get loose.Works exactly as claimed. We use Vanilla flavored big marshmallows or honey and Molasses on a piece of bread.Caught lots of rats too we didn't know were present.Forget cage traps with skunks. You've been warned.Out here a service wants $500 to catch and remove. This is a cheap, safe method and very effective.

Worth every penny!
This trap works perfectly! I have had 100% success. I’ve set it five times so far, and caught a skunk each time. They seem pretty content in the trap, and none have sprayed. I haven’t had any problems with the materials or function.

Piece of Junk
This unit was poorly made. The body is a PVC tube. The PVC tube wasn't cut square and therefore the trap door would bind and not drop closed. My dog had already been skunked once and the skunk was spotted the next day. I needed to get this in service fast. I called and after sending a video, the company offered a replacement. I asked for a partial refund for my time, effort and material to fix it myself so I wouldn't have to wait. They refused and said if I modified it at all, they wouldn't take it back. I'm heading out of town and really want to trap this skunk in the next three days. I told them I would just fix it myself and they could read the review. So, if your not handy with a drill, grinder, and riveter to fix their Vietnamese made trap, be prepared to send it back and hope to get a working one on the second try. I'll never order again from these folks. They said they couldn't offer a credit because I didn't buy it from them, although it is their product. So, they were willing to pay to ship another new one to me and ship this one back, but they wouldn't offer me $15-20 for my trouble so I could just fix their mistake.

Two caught on first night
Got the trap in yesterday. Almost no instructions on how to set it. After I figured out how to set it, I realized that the trip lever doesn't make good contact with the door. Used a small shim so it would trip easily. I placed the trap in the yard where the skunks travel. Placed some dry cat food out in the yard around the trap. I put a Twinkie inside trap, as far back as possible. When the skunk showed up, I had him in the trap within 30 minutes. Carried him off to the woods about 15 miles away. Opened the door but he would not come out. Left trap for about 10 minutes. When I returned he was gone. Got home and reset trap. Caught second one in about 20 minutes. Carried him off to same place and when I opened the door he ran away as fast as he could go. Neither one of them sprayed.I had a third skunk that went in the trap and stole the Twinkie but did not trip the door. So that one got away. Maybe I will catch him tonight. For the price of the trap, the quality control should be better and the customer should not have to make alterations. I would also recommend placing something heavy on each side because it can move easily. This is why I gave it 4 stars.UPDATESo far I have caught 14 skunks in 2 months with this trap. It will work after a little adjustment. Simple to use. None of the skunks sprayed when released or while in the trap. If you have a skunk problem it is a worthwhile purchase

Got a skunk right away.
Very simple to use and effective. The first night I put a raspberry shortbread cookie in there without setting it, and the cookie was gone in the morning. The second night, I baited it again and set it, and the skunk went right in there 2 hours after nightfall and now it’s trapped. I suppose I’ll have to deal with this skunk now tomorrow.

Function is great But....Needs padding in the shipping package
Good trap. I caught five skunks. Had nearly NO odor. I have seen NO skunks since. Stronger animals like opossums can mis-align the trigger while they are caught , but it easy to correct. Just re-center it in the pipe. The pipe body has fragile spots at the ends. Good padding in the package is needed. Mine had a crack at the bottom rear bolt. I fixed it with long worm gear hose clamps around the pipe to brace it.

Effective sprayless capture device!
Works! Finally able to write a review! Bought this last summer when we began to be plagued with skunks every so often. It almost caught one the first night but he backed out and never came back. Until this summer…not sure if it’s the same one but last night we caught him. No smell(besides his residual odors) because he’s not able to spray. Worked like a charm.
