Best overview of Murano Glass available.
Comprehensive history with a detailed genealogy of the glass makers themselves going back several hundred years. Lovely depiction of the art glass itself.

An excellent reference book for the glass collector.
I bought this book because I am a beginning glass collector. There is a ton of good info. in this book. It has very nice photos with notations about the glass makers and the dates that the pieces were made. The book tells all about the history of Murano glass masters and their families. The book describes the different kinds of glasses used and techniques. It also has a section with estimated pricing for collectible pieces. I highly recommend this book for the serious glass collector.

Out of my reach
This is a wonderful depiction of the upper end Murano art glass and its history, however I purchased this book hoping to have an aid in identifying the pieces I have in my collection or whatever I may add - the more 'garden variety' Murano. Chances are great that I'll never come across any of the items shown in this book. Otherwise, it is a pleasure.

I just recently got interested in Murano glass. So I was looking for a book on the making and history of this beautiful glass art. Not only are the pictures beautiful, the text satisfied my curiosity. I can highly recommend it.

Glass collector? Want to be one? You MUST buy this book!
"Murano Magic" is a terrific volume to own if you love collecting Venetian glass as much as I do. Or if you want to learn the ropes. This exhaustively researched (and yet surprisingly easy to read!) book tells you everything about the big glassmaking families and their works. (I especially liked the historical perspective the author gave to discussing the different glassmaking houses.) And the photos are outstanding. Many glass books I've seen just don't have enough photos to show examples of all the different kinds of Venetian glass (there are literally thousands of styles). "Murano Magic" has wonderful photos and lots of them. I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in Venetian glass.
