If any album would be considered as the "Soundtrack of the 1980s," it would be this one. Track after track, these classics pack a wallop like few others. Not only were the hooks strong and the songs powerful, but, how could listeners also not instantly think of the accompanying music videos? Gender, race, religion, sexuality and other social mores took center stage in Madonna's one-woman assault on entertainment and culture. Not only did she she get us to enjoy the pure bliss of her pop, but she also showed that pop music could also penetrate the mind. With her music, videos and stage shows, she got us to ponder, think and debate- and "The Immaculate Collection" summed up pop culture rather nicely for the 1983-1990 era. She also was thinking of the moment, making over the tracks for the times (and giving them a timeless quality); only the hardcore contingency will notice the subtle differences (the only true remixes come in the form of "Like a Prayer" and "Express Yourself," which maintain the integrity of the original recordings). The then-new tracks, "Justify My Love" and "Rescue Me," close the collection just fine (with "Justify" adding to her cultural goldmine), but it's the 15 classics that make this an essential purchase. So, sit back and enjoy the tour-de-force that comes with this era-defining collection of pop at its finest.

this songs made Madonna what she is today. i have been a fan of her ever since. i could not help but to get them on my cell so i could listen every chances i get. amazon you never let me down. keep up the good work you're doing thank again.

I am not a huge Madonna fan but I've always enjoyed her music although this is the first of her albums I've ever purchased. If you are like me and want a terrific sampling of her "greatest hits" as well as some of her album music, this is for you

I grew up with Madonna, so I occasionally get a taste for her music. But as I said if you grew up with it or are just finding her music, I think this should be in your library, Recommended.

Another great re-issue of Madonna's early albums. It is a limited edition double blue/gold vinyl in a gatefold sleeve which was released in the US only. Looks great and sounds amazing. Thank you Amazon. Buy it if you can. Limited to 6000 copies only.

Most probably Madonna's most iconic best of album. Having got rid of my original Vinyl to be able to repurchase and listen to it in real quality it great

Este CD es una edición japonesa editada en 2016 con la misma funda doble que el álbum original. Aunque se trata de un sólo disco, incluye las dos fundas interiores de aquel entonces, además de un booklet en japonés. No hizo falta remasterizarlo, ¡su sonido original es perfecto! ¡Un artículo legendario de colección!
