Better than elgato
Let me start off with this. I originally bought an Elgato. I spent 200$ for it. It absolutely would not work with my pc. My pc met all the requirements needed to run the card. It constantly crashed my pc. It froze My obs and it would not stream for more than 10 mins. I watched hours of videos and went through hundreds of tutorials and nothing works. After taking it back I looked into this capture card. I was very hesitant because it was cheaper and Elgato is one of the better capture cards according to most. Let me tell you, buying this capture card was a great decision. So far I have had absolutely no problems with this capture card. It was easy to set up and it is easy to use. The software was easy to install. I do hate that I can't use 60fps but I can still stream at 30fps and have great quality. It runs great. Over all this was a better choice for me than an elgato.

GL310's Capture of HDMI's Video and Audio Content Works Great
In one of the Q&A's about problems getting the sound to capture with this device, I noted that I was having the same problem as the original customer's problem with that. No matter what my settings for capture, there was no sound in the output file. Frustrating!I'd like to set things straight - seeing is believing, but hearing is, too. Specifically, just because I saw the audio stream existed in a file check, it didn't mean there's really something to hear. For example, I finally figured out why my new GL310 could not capture the audio portion of an HDMI stream. You could see it was actually missing in the output file's info (using the "Mediainfo" PC app) whereas the audio stream was there when file capture was done by a different capture device. Fact is, while the stream was there on that second device, it was empty - no sound to be heard. So apparently, the GL310 won't even create an audio stream in either the .TS or .MP4 containers if there's no audio detected, whereas some capture devices will create the stream no matter what.Short story: turns out my tuner/amplifier/home media selector is defective and for some selections the input HDMI audio IS NOT passed through to the output HDMI signal! Grrr. I had not noticed this since I usually only use my media center later on at night and only with captioning on, to keep the peace.Bottom line, my GL310 really is fully functioning as advertised and it all goes back to the saying, "garbage in -> garbage out." There really WAS NO audio in the HDMI signal I was trying to record! Once I removed the variable of my tuner/amp, file capture now works just fine. While not the easiest device to set up the way you want it, flexibility is sure worth it. I'm not hearing back from AverMedia's support, but they only give you 250 characters to describe your problem.Nonetheless, given the number of options the GL310 provides and the quality of the output, as well as a pretty decent interface, I've gotta give it 5 stars for performing it's advertised jobs!UPDATE: I did receive a response, after a couple days, from AverMedia support. They went through a checklist, but could likely not have been able to troubleshoot my particular problem, since it was a home theater system component that was screwing up the HDMI content.

The best price vs quality relationship!
Excelent product is really easy to use and the platform is very practical to setup even if you don’t know NoThing about it.Pros:1. Plug and record2. No need be expert using this or take tutorials3. Very cheap vs quality functions (does the same as El Garo but cheaper)4. The capture quality is outstanding for a 2014 product, it’s really amazon with a good price.Cons:Only one, on Win 10 sometimes the computer disconnect the usb cable or just doesn’t recognize it. I tried with other Win system and Everyting is fine but nowadays it should work fine with everytingFor that reason, Here you have 4 starts

Good Buy
This records video games really well. (PS4 user)All these recording devices have small issues. Some of them could be on my end not having the best PC. I ran into:Problems installing the driver for the device. I had multiple "no device detected" issues. You have to install it just right or your PC won't read the device. The downloads for it are on the official website for free.I can't record more than 2-3 hours at a time. Small issue. Just don't go over 1 hour. It tends to freeze when recording too long. Some sound issues. Have to detach USB and reattach.Cord length is not that great. PC has to be on top of your TV basically.

DO NOT BUY! Lags and crashes.
I had high hopes but this capture card is a piece of junk. Yes, it does work well for streaming and recording from an HDMI source but it will crash the entire system (Windows 7) most of the time when plugging or unplugging from the USB. It is a poor fit for OBS. It does work once the drivers are installed but the lag from HDMI to USB is really long, close to a second. You can laboriously delay all your other sources to match but what a pain! Even a $15 HDMI to USB converter is about twice as fast and looks almost as good.Pros: Picture looks nice. If all you want to do is stream a source or record HDMI into your computer, this is fine.Cons: Slow conversion to USB, Often crashes the system (BSOD) when connecting or disconnecting the USB, tech support is questionable.

Works just as well as Elgato, maybe even better!
I absolutely enjoy having the AverMedia Game capture over wasting a larger sum of money and stress over the Elgato game capture devices. It’s super light, and very portable, and truly captures everything in HD Quality. My only struggle I ever had with it was Hooking it up to my by-pass screen with the switch, and only receiving a black screen. But technical support helped me fix that issue fairly quickly. It’s super easy to stream and record gameplay, by a simple press of a button. The LGP310 does the rest for you and everything turns out all right! The latency, rarely becomes a problem because it’s just not that noticeable! 10/10
