Yes, Yes, Yes...got our fireplace back!
Finally a practical and effective solution to fireplaces that don't draft well. Many years ago I looked into these but they ran $3k+...today you can get this unit and it gets the job done! My fireplace is a large 46" pre-fab unit (as a size reference) and I went with the smaller sized draft unit. Their customer service rep told me it would be plenty good for my size. My fireplace runs 2-stories and has two 45-degree bends so it didn't draft worth a darn...but now my family can enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a fire whenever we want. The unit comes with a speed control but you'll need to run 3 wires from where you mount the control to the unit. As an alternative, you could set the unit to an ideal speed (just enough to do the trick) and then just run a switch to turn the unit on & off. There are remote controlled switches that could be adapted for this. In my case I ran the wire down the fireplace chase. As far as mounting the unit, I'll be honest....you or your handyman will need to have some skills to figure out how best to adapt it. It's not difficult but it'll take some creativity and ingenuity. I removed my large spark arrestor or cap (which fit into a 10" metal tube and then hacked it apart to then use the bottom section to mount into this unit. It's fabrication 101 but, again, you, your contractor or your handyman will need some basic fabrication skills to get it done. That said, it's fairly easy and this unit is made solid and made well. Love it, it gave us our fireplace back!Tip, in addition to the speed control, I also added a timer so the unit can run a specified amount of time after we walk away from the fireplace. One thing to remember, once you put a draft inducer on top of the stack, the air won't vent as freely as before. Why? Because there's a fan sitting on top and in order to draw the air it needs to have a got fit over the top. When you shut the unit off, there's little air drafting...so as the fire burns down or simmers, you'll want the draft inducer to run about an hour to help pull any smoke out of the home. The timer gives you that flexibility, just install the timer next to the speed control in a double-gang box. I got the timer with the 6 time options.

It was easy to install
It was easy to install. Works very well. My house had a fireplace with a large opening (47x27 inch). It was unusable due to the smoke getting into the house before I installed this fan. Since I installed it, even on relatively low RPM I have no problems. I have to leave it running all the time, whether or not I burn anything, or else the smell from the chimney comes into the house even a couple of days after using the fireplace, but at low RPM it does not consume much electricity anyway. It comes with a speed regulator so I returned the extra one that I bought separately.

Draw was always poor, house would back up with smoke and smell ...
We have a small stack 13' high chimney with a large Masonary opening. Draw was always poor, house would back up with smoke and smell like a campfire. The chimney fan does an awesome job eliminating that back draw, smoke and smell in the home now. The only issue I see with it is when we have the fan on high I can hear it fairly well. I guess it's because of our low chimney height to start with. Other than that I'd recommend this as I spent a good deal of time researching other units on the market and the installation was very easy.

made a real difference in a very, smokey fire place.

Great product
The chimney fan works great in our restaurant where we have an exhaust fan which creates a draft problem. Make sure you measure the flu and order the correct fan.

Wood Stove
Solved my problem. A little loud but my stove is small. I run it at it's lowest speed. I'd buy it again.

Problem with electrical hook up
I have the Tjernlund on top of the Chimney, now I need to find an electrician to hook it up. One electrician tried to get it hooked up, but it still doesn't work. I'm not a happy camper.

Great product! Easy to install and solved my draft issues
I bought this product to stop smoke from coming into my building. My chimney was too short to create good draft but with a few hours of work I had this fan creating plenty of draft. I installed it on a double walled air cooled chimney so there was a bit of experimenting to do but it all fit together nicely on the interior 8” pipe and I used parts of the old chimney cap to keep the air flowing through the channel on the outer 10” pipe. Really nice product and the 750 is not nearly as big as the pictures make it look. Not loud either. Works Great on the speed controller that’s included.
