Love this soup book!!!
The recipes are precise and the soup is always good. My family really like the blended zucchini soup and the chicken noodle.

These recipes aren't online
This is a book for people who love a great bowl of soup and who also love to cook. They are not the quickest or simplest recipes. They are just the BEST ones, for each of the classic soups covered. I have also found that, while there are Williams-Sonoma recipes on the web for most of these soups, the ones in this book are a little different, typically a little more bother, and also--to my taste--noticeably better. A few of my all-time favorites: Split Pea (whith ham added from Thanksgiving leftovers), Beef and Beet Borscht, and the crowning jewel, Chicken Tortilla. (I've made that last one while visiting in Mexico and had locals begging me for the recipe!)

An excellent soup book.
I have several cook books in this series by Williams-Sonoma and I find them to be exceptionally well written and they tend to have very well shot pictures, too. The combination of the right wording together with some key photos make this book on soups a reference to use and follow from time to time without becoming dated. I find this series is not only attractively presented but the what's inside is what makes them a winner. This soup series includes classics such as Chicken Noodle Soup, Shrimp Bisque, and French Onion Soup as well as soups like Three-Mushroom Soup with Sherry, Curried Corn Soup, and Swiss Chard Soup. 120 pages.

This book has beautiful food photos of what each dish should look like ...
This book has beautiful food photos of what each dish should look like when plated. The recipes are easy to follow and few require ingredients not found in a typical cupboard. I have made most of the recipes, and my family has enjoyed each one. Recipes are organized by seasons which is a great help in selecting which to use. I bought this copy for a friend after she remarked how delicious-looking the soups were that I brought to work for lunch. This is a standout soup book.

Good Soup
There are several soups in this book that I want to try. So far I have only made the cauliflower cheese one and it was very good. Soup is a great meal for me, and I am always happy to have more recipes for it. I like the Williams Sonoma cookbooks that I have very much, and this is a good addition to that series.

Just not for me.
I love most of the Williams-Sonoma recipe collections; so I was a bit surprised at the rather basic, uninspiring recipes found within the pages of Williams-Sonoma: Soup. Maybe I expected too much from this slim volume. It contains very few recipes I would consider making, as I already have favorites of many of the basic soup recipes provided. That is not to say that experimentation shouldn't be undertaken, but I personally don't find this volume inspiring enough to experiment with. I think others will enjoy it, it's just not for me

Easy to read and tasty soup
I've tried about a half dozen of the soups in the book. they have all been very easy, not overly complicated list of ingredients or processes. I bought two soup books at the same time and I believe there is a recipe in here for Beef, barley and mushroom soup, that is one of my favourites so far. Making the various soups has made me realize how easy it is to create nice soups which has been great for winter. I would recommend this one for a good selection of basic soups that are easy to make.

Soup Cookbook
Love all the Williams-Sonoma Collection. Great not too complicated recipes, bright , beautifully shot photos of the finished product. I have purchased as many of the other books in the collection as I could get my hands on. Even used, they are a great buy and I'll cherish them forever. Greatest place to buy books on earth!

Love this Soup Cookbook
Fantasic recipes for may different soups that are not all that complicated or that take all day to make. My sister-in law and I spent 15 days in Ireland and some of the receipes remind me of the soups over there.
