I was hesitant to buy this due to the fact that it's a Haynes product, but this is no Haynes manual. This is far better.I have used Haynes and Chiltons manuals before for several older cars I owned at the time. While proving somewhat useful, I always felt they were lacking in description and detail.Enter the Clymer manual. This thing is perfect for the DIY mechanic. It has detailed descriptions, photos, and tables full of torque specs and fluid capacities. It even has full page, color coded wiring diagrams of the entire CANbus system.I just recently bought a well used 2007 R1200RT and I have never owned a BMW motorcycle before, so I was not at all familiar with them. So far I have used this to remove and reinstall both wheels, remove the final drive for service, service the driveshaft, change the engine oil, transmission oil, final drive oil, change the spark plugs, and change the air filter. I enjoy working on this bike because I know I have the knowledge to fix it properly. If you have a Hexhead BMW, you need this book.

The information and pictures included were very helpful when I needed to replace my right side cylinder head on my 2008 BMW R 1200 GS adventure. I likely would not have been able to do this job without this repair manual

Clunker Manuel’s are so much better than the Haynes manuals. More thorough and better explanations. A must have if you’re going to do your own work on your motorcycle.

This thing totally blows away the Haynes manuals. You won't be disappointed. It even includes color wiring diagrams.

Excellent manual.has all the info you will need to maintain your bike.sometime info like torque specs are in the text for the procedure you are proforming and missing in the table list at the end of the chapter.this is a detailed manual but that makes it big.dont be in a hurry,u can get there!

Le guide Clymer sono uno strumento irrinunciabile per chiunque voglia cimentarsi nella manutenzione, ordinaria e straordinaria, della propria moto. Non fa eccezione questa, dedicata alla serie R1200.Ogni capitolo spiega, passo passo e con dovizia di particolari ed immagini, ogni singola operazione, aggiungendo consigli preziosi suggeriti da chi su queste moto ci mette davvero le mani. Ci sono sezioni dedicate alle operazioni periodiche, tagliandi e controlli; le altre sezioni trattano nello specifico singoli contesti: motore, freni, impianto elettrico, ecc. , il tutto pensato per chi si cimenta per la prima volta su questi modelli. Un capitolo è dedicato solo agli attrezzi da utilizzare, e dove possibile viene spiegato come fare a meno degli attrezzi "ufficiali", sostituendoli con altri, o addirittura costruendone ad hoc. Un altro capitolo parla solo di individuazione dei problemi su queste moto.Pur essendo scritto in inglese, il manuale risulta comunque di semplice lettura. Per chi ha poca dimestichezza con la lingua basterà dotarsi di un buon dizionario: si tratta di un manuale tecnico, perciò la terminologia usata è sintetica ed è la stessa per tutto il libro; sarà perciò via via sempre più facile comprendere i contenuti man mano che ci si addentra nella lettura.In definitiva, credo che per chiunque sia appassionato della propria moto, e di meccanica in generale, questa guida possa essere un'inesauribile e interessante fonte di informazioni.
