Elle Decor So Chic

Selection from old Elle Decor U.S. which I find the best interior design magazine at the moment.

I am a huge fan of this magazine and I buy it every time I go to the states. This book brings together some of the best features of the homes of well known owners. It is categorized into home owners from 'Fashion and Style'(eg Donatella Versace and Ralph Lauren), 'Design and Architecture' (my favourite: Sig Bergamin) and 'Art and Culture' (eg Ben Stiller, Cindy Crawford and Candace Bushnell). This is a book to lose yourself in with beautiful images of glamourous homes across the world.

I purchased this book, appropriately subtitled "Glamorous Lives, Stylish Spaces" in April 2009 and will soon need to buy a new copy due to the "wear and tear." Margaret Russell and her editorial assistants have selected some of the most alluring interiors I have ever seen. Not only are the featured interiors "knock your socks off" gorgeous and interesting, but the folks who inhabit them are, too. You will get a lot of unique, energizing ideas from looking at the homes; you'll also be introduced to the attractive, interesting, sophisticated people who live in them. It is fresh, alive, and fun! I probably need to go ahead and replace my lovingly worn copy soon!

最近、こちらの本と「ＧＬＡＭＯＵＲ」を購入しました。どちらも見ごたえがあり、とても素敵な本です。インテリアの傾向としては似ているかもしれませんがこちらの本は住んでいる人も紹介されていて住んでる人の息遣いを感じます。ケネスジェイレーンの自宅を見て、彼が作るジュエリーの世界観に納得しました。他にも知っている有名人の方の家が載っていましたがその方の持っている雰囲気etc…と自宅の設えは一致する物があって人となり、内面をも映し出している様な気がします。家具の選び方、ファブリックの色合わせ、どれを取ってもホントに素敵ですがモデルルームの様な無機質な感じは無く温もりを感じます。ただ眺めてうっとりするも良しインテリアの参考にするも良し買ってよかった１冊です。

I bought this book for a friend who's an interior designer and ended up keeping it myself but of course, ordered another one for her. Why keep it? The book was different to what I expected. This exquisite book covers so many styles, ideas, lifestyles, etc etc it excited me enough to start redecorating my home. I've 'loaned' a couple of ideas from the book, mixed and matched others and am having the best time. 5 stars is well deserved for this absolutely necessary for every home book with it's great ideas. Not forgetting of course the fabulous photography.

著名人のインテリア美的感覚の優れたインテリアを見ることが出来て刺激を受けましたあのジュエラーの部屋はすごかった・・イメージの参考になるページが多くて買ってよかったです。
