Great after slight modifcation
Bought this to secure our HDTV with a 1 year old running around. I have an older Panasonic plasma from 2006 (42PZ700U) that weighs just under 100 lbs. In case you're wondering, the pieces that the straps run to are metal, not plastic. I looked everywhere for this information and couldn't find it. It comes with various metric size bolts that are used to attach the straps to the TV. Since all TVs are made overseas, this shouldn't be a problem (yes Vizio is an American company but the TVs are not made in the US). The bolts are intended to mount to the VESA mounting locations on your TV which most all TVs should have these days. Confusingly, the instructions never mention to use the VESA mounts. My TV used the largest bolts (M8) but the supplied spacers were way too long. The instructions say not to use the bolts without the spacers but I could not figure out why (too long for some newer, slimmer TVs?). Attaching the bolts directly to my TV without the spacer would have been just fine (your mileage may vary) if it had not been for the indents where the VESA mounts were on my TV. It would have put metal on metal and scratched the TV. I could have cut the spacers down but didn't have a good way to secure the round spacer while cutting it. One trip to the hardware store later solved this. I picked up shorter, 3/8" long nylon spacers (stacking nylon washers would have worked too). The spacers for use with the larger M6 and M8 bolts are roughly 1 inch long while the bolts are ~1.5" long. This could be something particular to Panasonic TVs where the VESA mounts are different. I only used the strap to the furniture and not the wall mount. Our TV cabinet is made from real wood (not particle board) with a flat back (no lip like another reviewer mentioned) and weighs ~100 lbs. Overall I'm very happy with this strap. I tested it by pushing/lifting the TV from behind and it was very solid. Ironically, the high weight of the TV is now a good thing with the strap on. If my little guy can move the TV even an inch, we're calling Guinness World Records.

Works great.
I bought my first flat screen TV, a 47" size. Didn't want it on the wall so I got a credenza-type stand to put it on. Since I have cats I wanted a way of bracing the TV so it wouldn't go over. Based on reviews at Amazon I decided to try the Sanus belt system.Everything is well made and labeled. You get various machine screw sizes to accommodate the threads on the back of the TV, and there are several options depending upon what type of stand you have. I would like to note that if you are bracing the TV to a wood cabinet the instructions indicate the cabinet top should be at least 1" thick. I haven't ever heard of any cabinet of any kind having 1" thick wood panels. My cabinet is 5/8" thick and I assumed that would have to do.It was easy to attach the strap to the TV and to the cabinet. But, it was a pain and fairly difficult to adjust the straps tight enough. This thing must be designed to handle any size TV so TV's at the smaller end of the scale are going to be a job. But, I finally got that part done.I also used the wall attachment for the entire cabinet to be tied to since we live in earthquake country. This was the hardest part. Finding a stud and attaching the bracket wasn't a problem but getting the belt to hook into it was hard. Your cabinet must be far enough away from the wall for your hand to fit down behind it to hook the belt to the bracket. If you want your cabinet as flush to the wall as possible using this option really isn't feasible.Yes, this belt system will only keep your TV from falling over forward. Technically it could still tip over backwards, but the odds of that are pretty slim.Overall I'm happy with this item, but the belt adjustments could have been easier.

Fits up to 70" - includes everything - works great!
I just bought a 65" Panasonic plasma TV, replacing a beloved but tired 60" Sony SXRD. The Sony had a security strap option that I used to attach it to the stand it sat on, though really it was stable enough it didn't need it. But the flatscreen plasma set was another story - it wouldn't take too much of a tug or knock to pull it down, and my wife insisted that it needed to be secured. At first I had thought of using some sort of C-clamp to clamp the base to the stand, but I could not find anything that worked. Some searching brought me to this Sanus mounting belt. The Amazon description says it is for TVs 'up to 60"' but the package, when it arrived, gave 70" as the maximum size. Needless to say, it fit my 65" set just fine. The belt attaches to the TV using the standard VESA bolt holes on the back of pretty much every flat screen TV and monitor. Sanus includes several different diameters of bolts, along with washers and spacers you might need. I really liked that the hardware was all clearly labeled. In my case, I needed the largest bolt and the larger spacers. Before you tighten the bolts, use your fingers to see how far into the TV the bolt will go without hitting bottom - you will likely find you need a spacer to keep from going through the screen!A metal plate attaches to the furniture, with several options available. Optionally, a sturdy slotted piece can be attached to a wall stud and a T-tab on the end of the belt goes into that. You don't have to use the wall attachment if you don't want to. I ended up drilling a hole in the underside of the stand's top surface to secure the belt in place, which was how I had done it with the Sony. The instructions show screwing into the back edge, but my stand's top was not thick enough for that. All three legs of the "Y" have adjustment buckles so it can fit many different TV sizes and mounting options. You'll want to snug up all the belts at the end.

Worth it for the safety and still discrete
Does the job of securing a tv on a console table, and still the strap is hidden due to the Y shape.

Does the job well. Has been in use in my house for over a year and just works. Bit more expensive than similar devices but very well made product. Came with enough screws and fitting for most TVs.
