Is this top of line ?

It's, as far as I know, a unique product. No-one else makes anything quite like it (as a handheld, one-box solution). I've got one, and it's a fantastic time-saver. I can do a quick look at four cylinder's worth of ignition waveforms in twenty seconds. To do the same thing with my Snap-On Verus (five grand's worth) takes five minutes to boot, then a couple of minutes to find and plug up the adaptor, then another minute to configure the scope mode. And I gain little or nothing more by doing it with the Snap-On tool than using the GTC product.

Will this work on a single cylinder lawnmower engine to read rpm? If so what setting would you use?

The problem is that when the unit is in tach mode it reads the wrong RPM’s because you you can not set it for the number of cylinders that your engine has. It’s permanently set for “8” cylinders with no way to change it to “1”, “2”, “4”, or “6” cylinders so that the tach function will read correctly. You have the option of setting the unit for a 2-cycle or a 4-cycle engine so why can you not set the number of cylinders?
