Limited nine CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD box. This set housed in a sumptuously packaged 12"x12" deluxe casebound book, comprising the six studio albums from their international hit-laden recording periods with RCA Records and Epic Records. All six albums feature extra tracks, including non-album B-Sides, with the remaining three CDs containing forty two 7" and 12" alternate versions and remixes. The release features the original album tracklistings plus B-Sides, a multitude of alternate mixes, instrumental versions and more than 30 mixes previously unreleased on CD, bringing a two-label collection together from the band's internationally successful career, for the very first time. This deluxe set features a 2,000 word recollection, with Denise Pearson interviewed by Record Collector Editor, Paul Lester. Five Star were managed by their father, Buster Pearson who harbored the idea that his talented children could be the UK's 1980s version of an older Jackson 5. Following an appearance on BBC One's Pebble Mill in 1983, Five Star signed to RCA Records then spent 1984 honing their craft and performing at numerous club PAs around the country. They were rewarded in May 1985 with their debut hit 'All Fall Down', which reached #15 in the UK Singles Chart taken from the debut album Luxury Of Life, from which seven singles were released. It was the final single from the album, 'System Addict', that charted the highest from the album and which started a run of nine consecutive Top 20 hits.

Five Star
This is a great package of music. Several hours of entertainment from the 80's and 90's.

Bogus Bonus Tracks
As a fan of Five Star since the 80s I was pretty stoked about this because it had a long list of bonus tracks listed on five out of the six original albums that were not remixes so I expected demos and b-sides that I never got to hear. Well, I guess they are just that but what I wish had been clear was that they are largely INSTRUMENTAL SONGS! Five Star was not a band who played their own instruments, they were known for their harmonizing and dance moves, so these instrumental bonus tracks are out of place and frankly disappointing as they are largely why I invested this kind of money. What's worse, most of these instrumental tracks sound like kids playing on someone's synthesizer, which may be exactly what these are since the family had a studio in their home. Also, the quality of the music on these album reissues doesn't really sound much better than my original CDs bought in the 80s and 90s. I guess the remix discs are cool and the DVD is pretty cool as well, but overall this was not worth the more than $50 I spent. Buyer beware if you are buying for the bonus tracks, I only wish the description of this set had warned me.

Great Collection , bad choice of extra songs
Was very excited to recieve this item but was disappointed with all the INTRUMENTAL filler crap that they chose to include and no sign of their last 2 cds Heart & Soiul and Eclipse :( I do love that there was a full dvd of Videos so that makes the purchase sorta worth it .

A Must for any Five Star fan!
This is an absolute must for any Five Star fan. Packed with almost every feature you can ask for. Beautifully present in the box set! Not all the 12" mixes are on this compilation though which was slightly disappointing!Track 9-5 is credited (in the booklet only) as the Phil Harding (PWL) Dub but plays as the Shep Pettibone Dub.Track 9-7 is listed as "Somewhere Somebody (Dub Remix)" but plays as the standard Shep Pettibone 12” version, as released in 1987 (and featured on the “Between the Lines” Cherry Pop reissue from 2012). This was supposed to be the Dub Remix from the 12” promo, but the wrong mix was used by Edsel.Apart from this it is still a fantstic box set to own and the booklet was a pleasure to read! :)

A worthy compilation beautifully packaged.
I discovered this by viewing the group’s twitter feed and was blown away by the sheer beauty and extravagance of the presentation. It seemed too good to be true. But this is the ultimate compilation spanning 7 years of music during their 35th anniversary.Of course as a lifelong fan it could have been improved if there was evidence of all the members contribution to the project. It would have been great if it included group interviews, individual biographies, and making of promo videos and live performances.Don’t let this put you off. I feel that given their contributions to music they are incredibly underrated and not given the accolade or recognition they deserve. However Denise disagrees and reminisces on the impact the music had in that era. They will always hold a place in my heart as they were my first musical idols that were black and British born that were able to compete with their U.S cousins. Each album showed growth, maturity, improved vocals, and an impeccable image and unmatched professionalism.A musical compilation worth every single penny. Thank you for the excellent safe packaging and quick delivery.
