BristanHOS 150CN02 C Cone to Nut Lrg Bore Shower Hose, Chrome, 1.5m

Bought to replace a pesky leaking hose that mere washers appeared to be incapable of curing, and renamed up with a Mira head unit.The hose looks smart, was supplied with 3 washers and was easy to assemble.The leak is no more. 😁I dock a star for the cone connection, as my feeling is it skimps on length. A turn of thread remains exposed at the base of my handset, and I am lothe to do more than hand tighten it for fear of breaking the hand unit. This does not affect the operation, but is a niggle. I could sand off the thread of the hand unit if I was really bothered by it, but it does seem odd as I'd assumed that hand unit threads would all be the same length?The bore of the hose does appear to be wider than the one that it is replacing, and flow from the hose makes for a pleasant shower (mains, gas combi).

Bearing in mind that this shower hose is by Bristan , a household name, it is not very well made. Previously I had a Grohe silver smooth shower hose, but after12 years of excellent service it had become stained at one end. Smooth shower hoses are slightly less flexible than the metal 'articulated' type, which is why I bought the Bristan. After three days of use, without being dropped or stretched in any way, some of the metal pieces fell open. This is unacceptable as some years ago I bought a cheap hose of this type which served me well for about four years.I do not recommend this product at all and shall be replacing it soon with another Grohe hose, a brand that is truly reliable. Get a grip, Bristan!

I bought this to go with Bristan quest bath mixer taps which were giving a weak shower with the hose and shower head supplied - as soon as I opened this hose I could see it was much wider than the original, however the water only came out in a trickle from the shower head. In the spirit of experimentation I decided to try the 3 way shower head from my old Triton pumped electric shower and it worked! Now we have a an amazing shower from the gravity fed bath taps, almost as strong (but thankfully MUCH quieter!) than the old Triton T90xr. If I hadn't accidentally read about wide bore shower hoses I would have stuck limping along with a very weak shower. You might need to change the shower head as well as the hose but it's a small investment, much cheaper than a pump anyway!

The hose is used for a pumped shower. It has very much improved the flow and it has eliminated air being trapped in the system. Which of course affected the flow. The new hose has a larger internal bore which helps also. The hose is constructed with a metal casing which should prevent it being crushed adjacent to the shower rose. Overall a good buy.

Did the job looks smart too.Original new Brittany shower came with a 7mm inside diameter shower hose so on a 1.8 metre water head on a low pressure vented system the shower delivered a trickle of 2.2 litres/min. Using this new larger bore hose I now get 4.5 litres/min. A vast improvement.

A common problem with some shower hoses. I have low pressure water and so bought this as it has a large bore. However a large bore is not much use if the inside of the hose kinks and reduces the flow almost to a stop when you sometimes twist the hose in the process of rinsing off.

Bought to replace a 10 year old hose that was starting to perish. The larger bore made a real difference to the flow.Very pleased.

Arrived quickly but probably shorter than we wanted and due to this overstrectching it has slowly come apart. Still should be ok for the price and fitting for a shorter shower.
