There Is No Next: NBA Legends on the Legacy of Michael Jordan

Liked it as much or more than The Jordan Rules
After hearing several references to the Jordan Rules on sports talk in the last year, I decided to read it and was blown away at how the Bulls found a way to win a championship despite the turmoil. With this book, there was more insight into the second half of 3 championships as well as Michael's competitive nature and how his opponents were grateful for what he did for the league. I grew up watching Jordan, but have felt that LeBron is the GOAT based on what he's done. After reading this book, I am reconsidering that conclusion because the difference is that Jordan came to play every game (preseason, scrimmage, playoffs etc.) it was the same effort and he elevated his teammates to compete all the time. He would never sit out a regular season game for "rest". As a result, he was not able to sustain his dominance for as long and LeBron will likely end up the statistical leader is many different major categories. I've never heard of anyone who is so competitive and it was good to hear from teammates about the craziness he also had to endure off the court because he couldn't go anywhere at anytime and not get mobbed by fans. Was a great read and would highly recommend!

G.O.A.T.
Being a Laker fan I always kept theLakers stars in high reguard and still do. I also had the pleasure to see the greatest of all time play when I lived in Chicago... Michael Jordan. There will never be another player like him ever. The closest to him was Kobe. RIP. Great book and a great read. Five stars!

This was a good book. I don't think it was a good ...
This was a good book. I don't think it was a good as The Jordan Rules by Sam Smith, but definitely worth the money of you're a fan of Michael Jordan. What I liked most about it was reading all the comments about Jordan by his peers - Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, Steve Kerr, Grant Hill, etc. They played with MJ on a regular basis but were still in awe of him because he was THAT good.

Fabulous book on Michael Jordan!
I've read a couple of other books on MJ but Sam did a fabulous job on this one. A lot of in depth interviews from his peers, opponents, coaches, and other people who have insights on him. Sam also gave great insights on MJ's teammates and what was happening behind the scenes during his first 3 championships and during his second 3 championships after his 1.5 year hiatus. Very entertaining, it made me want to keep coming back to it every chance I got until I finished it. Get it!

Great Book on MJ's Legacy 30 yrs. after entering the NBA
Nobody knows the Michael Jordan legacy better than Sam Smith. He was there for every single exciting game, and all of the off-court drama as well. Sam's writing style is both informative and entertaining. The book is also packed with long quotes from those who know Jordan, coached him or shared the court with him. If you think that you've heard it all about Michael (as I have), get ready for some new insights and stories you've never heard elsewhere. HIGHLY recommanded!

Great Read!
Sam Smith is a Hall of Fame basketball writer and this effort is just further proof. Using his intimate knowledge of both the Bulls and the NBA, he is able to explain the force that was Michael Jordan during his NBA career. An outstanding collection of interviews with Jordan's coaches, teammates and opponents helps the book make a case for why we are not likely to see his measure again anytime soon.

Not a great overall book
Not a great overall book. Sam Smith's writing ability is rather poor. He admits himself in the book, stating he's a better reporter. Its written like a long list of gamers. Not much new information. His writing is often confusing, its not uncommon for a sentence to start with thought (a), go to completely unrelated though (b), then finish with a thought (c) which contradicts thought (a). Some of the quotes can be interesting, but there are much fewer than the title of the book would lead you to believe. There are much better biographies on Jordan

Must read for any basketball fan
Another classic by the great Sam Smith. Albeit Jordan Rules is still my favorite book from him, There Is No Next is a must read for any Jordan, Bulls or basketball fan out there. There are several quotes from some of the great personalities around the NBA regarding both Jordan and the game itself. This is one of those books you could read many times and never get tired of it.

Hagiografía
Hagiografía sobre la figura de Michael Jordan. A los fans acérrimos, como es mi caso, les gustará, pero no ofrece demasiadas novedades o información desconoicida.

Terrific insight into Jordan
Terrific insight into Jordan. It was a long time ago for some of us and to be reminded why he was the best, people paid to see him perform so he gave them a show every time he crossed the white line, was inspirational for me.
