Chef'n Scoop Troop Melon Baller and Fruit Scoop Set

They go through like a hot knife in butter! All 3 pieces work great, good price too!!

It took me a few minutes to figure out where all the parts were - but that was totally me! I'd seen the video before buying and didn't realize that they were all stored in one piece (I knew I was buying three pieces). I love that they all store in one piece - and so colorful too! I've been using a scoop our former exchange student sent us from Japan to get out the avocado, but I love how this one works! I also like the melon baller part. I haven't tried the larger one yet as I am not big on things like cantaloupe, but my mom loves them, so I may get some when she visits, or try it on a watermelon.....

I wish I had these years ago. Fantastic. I have used them on avocado's melons etc and they work great.

Melons are a wonderful part of summer to me, and this little tool makes it all the easier to enjoy them. I purchased it specifically for the two metal hoops they refer to as scoops, although they actually function best at separating rind from the flesh of the fruit. It isn't terribly useful as a scoop to lift and hold anything. For cantaloupes and honeydew melons, which are our favorites, I cut the melon in half and then use the appropriate size "scoop" to separate the seeds from the flesh and dump it out. Then I cut the melon in wedges and use the "scoop" to shave off the rind from the flesh. It takes a little patience and practice to get the scoop and wedges aligned so you don't leave excess flesh at the outer edges, but otherwise it is much faster, easier, and more intuitive than slicing off the rind with a knife. I have also used the tool on mangos and avocados with good results. I don't usually use the melon baller as I prefer chunks, but I assume it would perform adequately. A very useful tool that I use several times a week during the summer.

Scope is very small, would take days to scour out melons.

I love my scoops. I use the smaller one for avacados and kiwis. I'm always finding uses for these things. Excellent quality as well.

Sharp and good quality item. Very useful for slicing musk-melon, papaya, watermelons, pumpkins. I like that there are two sizes for scooping. Also all three stack into each other so well in a space-saving design. Am very pleased with the purchase. Makes peeling and slicing a breeze. ​

These are attractive and a great addition to a kitchen gadget drawer!The only setback is that the metal is prone to rust so avoid the dishwasher and dry immediately!
