Easy set up and easy to use
I was a little hesitant in choosing these as I had read a review that stated there was an issue in setting these up. I found it to be very easy, straight out of the box I plugged the plug into the position it would 'live'. After a couple of seconds there's a flashing amber light on it the plug. You also need to download the app from the app store that's appropriate for your phone and it literally takes seconds to connect. You connect your phone in the first instance to the plug, go to the wifi settings and choose the plug instead of your home wifi, once they are paired the plug will then show up in the Kasa apps device list.Once it's showing, click on it and select schedule if you want to have a schedule, which I did for my lamps. You can have it automatically turn the lamp on then off as many times as you want in any given day, you can also just set it on a timer to come on or off in whatever count down you choose. So tell the light to turn on in 30 minutes and it will, or turn it on...or any timings you choose. You can turn one lamp on or off or all the lamps on or off, you decide. At the setup stage, you get the option to name your device, mines are Upstairs Light, Downstairs Light, PC Lamp etc......you get the idea. It's also easy to add it into the Alexa app, so you can have it turn on or off via spoken commands to Alexa, so I have a group called Lights, within that, I have individual named lights as described above. I can tell Alexa to turn the lights on and they all go on, or I can just say 'Alexa turn on the PC Lamp' and thats the only one that will get switched on. It's very easy and quite intuitive once set upWhere we live it's starting to get dark a little after 4pm, for the hour prior to that if it's gloomy outside it can be very dull indoors as well. We also have a remote camera, so if we look in on our pets, and it's getting dark and the schedules not yet kicked in, we can turn the lights on remotely from the App just as easy as if we were there

Reliable way of making your home smarter
The plugs have a really good connection over wi-fi and have worked perfectly since purchase a few months ago. I ask Alexa to turn them on and off and it is instant with a satisfying click. They are really quick and easy to set up over wi-fi and integrate with Alexa. Just need your passwords to hand. I use one for a standing lamp, one for my outside light and a light in the conservatory. There is no need for a smart home hub, they just use wi-fi. I would highly recommend. I initially bought a pack of 3 on black Friday to test, and I bought another 2 after as they did a great job. The only thing to be aware of is the size. They are about twice as deep as a standard UK plug.

Very pleased so far and functions brilliantly with app on iPhone
I really like these smart plugs! I haven’t tried the Amazon brand so unsure how they compare, but these TP-link ones work very well with the app, allowing voice control but also setting timers and turning on and off via the app. I got a bit confused when linking it to the wifi because you have to select the plug on your wifi settings. Once I worked that out it all went fine and the app has step by step instructions to getting set up. I’ve been using them for my fairy lights and also the timer to turn my phone charger off at night so it doesn’t destroy my phone battery if I fall asleep. I’m always nervous about additional electronics in plug sockets in case of fire but so far so good with these, will be buying more!

Review of HS100(UK) Smart Plug versions 1.0, 1.1 and 2.1
I have accumulated seven of these TP-Link Smart Plugs over two or so years. I control a number of lights, a TV and soundbar in conjunction with the App (directly and with the timer function), an Amazon Echo and (dare I say?) Google Home.In the early days my Version 1.0 devices had an occasional tendency where Alexa reported (correctly) they were not responding. This seems to have been less of a problem more recently following a firmware update. One of my v1.0 devices failed 'permanently on' just after 15 months and no amount of resetting or general shaking about made any difference. Luckily I could return it to my discount club for a refund so I did not have to try a TP-Link warranty claim.Setting up was simplicity itself with v1.0 and v1.1 Smart Plugs but a total nightmare with my four v2.1 devices. I have no explanation for this as the process to set up with the App is identical with no scope to do much wrong. In fact I went as far as getting a return arranged with Amazon as I had spent so much time without success. I knew that it' was unlikely that all four devices were faulty but there was no apparent Wi-Fi SSID being generated so setup failed. TP-Link Helpline suggested I do a reset but I'd already tried this. I had also tested an unused v1.1 device in the same location which installed almost instantly. The troubleshooting guide suggests trying to setup in different locations. At the sixth location tried (situated just on the edge of router range) my mobile App finally locked on to a v2.1 Smart Plug but it was too far away from the router to complete the setup. The seventh location was 2m nearer the router and finally this worked for all four devices. They were then replaced to the original locations and continue to work well.I've knocked a star off the rating for the setup problems as I came so close to giving up.Otherwise I am pretty satisfied with these Smart Plugs and can recommend them.

Great smart plugs, simple to setup, perfect Alexa integration
These are the 2nd lot of Kasa smart plugs I have bought. They are so easy to setup, plug in, push the button and search on the app. The new plugs are found in seconds, can be renamed and you just need to pick the wireless network you want to use and input the password. They integrate with Alexa perfectly, and i have had no problems in losing connectivty or any delays in other a year of use (from previous purchase of same model)

Easy to set up and use
As with any smart product you do really need to stick with one type and go with it. I went for TP Link and haven’t been disappointed so far. I have wi-fi extensions, smart bulbs and a few of these plugs. All work well with very few drop outs (the ones i’ve had have been due to our wi-fi not the kit). I use the plugs to control heated blankets, lamps, hifis and electric radiators. Timing programs work well with no issues. They are easy to set up with a mobile and the Kasa app.
