Instead, simply peel it back as far as needed and make a clean cut. Also, avoid placing tape over the lights, as this will cause them to become permanently blurry. Literally broke almost getting it out of the box. I read the reviews and still took a chance but was sadly disappointed by this product being so poorly made. The wiring light broke off immediately from the round section for the eyes.
