Exactly the Way It Should Be for 6- & 12-String Guitars - Worked for Acoustic Bass, Too
The media could not be loaded. Many reviews on this tuner and its brothers have mentioned slowness on acquiring the guitar low E. This video shows how minor (or even non-existent) the issue is if you put the tuner on the side of the headstock closest to the low E.If you VIEW the video in FULL SCREEN, you can see the digital pointer, and how it moves as the two low E's on a 12-string guitar are tuned up to correct pitch.Sorry about video quality (Amazon reduces their quality) and the cars in the background (I needed lots of light in the background, and I did not want to bring my guitar out into the snow). The tuner also worked for a friend's acoustic/electric bass guitar. It took about a second to get the low E (on the bass guitar, remember), but it got it. He was able to tune his bass, and I my 12-string while a piano was playing (we were about 10 feet behind the soundboard of an upright acoustic piano that was also being amplified). Great tuner!!When the Mode Selector Switch is set to "Chromatic", the tuner allows you to tune to any note, and the display will indicate the note, e.g., "D#". When the Mode Selector Switch is set to "Guitar" or "Violin", the tuner allows you to tune only to those notes that exist on a standard-tuned guitar or violin. E.g., when set to "Guitar", it allows you to tune only to the six standard guitar notes, and will display either "6E", "5A", "4D", "3G", "2B", or "1E". The Mode Selector Switch seems to have no affect on the tuner's performance. (This is a good thing because it works perfectly.)

Fast; Accurate Tuner
This tuner is a great value. It has a very clear read-out face with calibrations that allow quick, reliable tuning. The on/off switch is easy to find and fuctions quickly without having to hold the button down forever to get the device to turn on and off. The ratio of guitar tuner to the chromatic tuner is set up to allow you to turn your string and not have to go back and forth to get the right tension on the string and bring your string into tune. For a good price and good accuracy, this is the best tuner I have.

Can I give this zero stars?
This tuner is crap! I have tried it on 3 electric guitars and 1 acoustic and if it even recognizes the note, it seems to think G and D are the same note. I had a Crafter and a Planet Waves that were cheaper and worked better!

Small, Handy, and Accurate
My experience with this tuner is in line with the others here: it works great but has trouble with the low E string. In all other areas, it is great! Clips on easily, is very small, will fit in the case pocket with no problem, and has a bright and easy-to-see display. (I haven't even peeled off the plastic shield and it is very bright and clear.) That said, I have a pretty good ear, and if I can get one string on pitch, I can get the others tuned in short order, so the reluctance to detect the low-E string doesn't really bother me. I tuned with my old unit and checked with the IMT-600, and it was dead-on. The obvious advantage is that it is using vibrations and will not be affected by the radio or others tuning or playing their instruments. That's worth the price alone. My old tuner went though 9V batteries too quickly anyway, I had to actually remove the battery after each use because there was some kind of phantom drain even when turned "off". I haven't had the IMT-600 long enough to give any opinion of battery life, but I haven't seen anyone else report this as a problem.Bottom line: this is a great little unit for a great price, unless you have a poor ear. If you absolutely need the low-E function at 100%, you'll need to spend more for a different tuner.

Highly Recommended!
I love these tuners and have bought over 10 of them over the years, many as gifts. Awesome product; always work perfectly. Easy to see, easy to use. Stellar!

More expensive and didn't work as well as SNARK
Could not figure out a way to clip it to my electric Skyinbow violin. Won't clip to pegs, won't clip to body, so couldn't really use. When I did get it to clip a few times (before it slipped off), I would play the note (with it set to violin) but nothing would register. Then when I stopped playing the note, suddenly the "A" or whichever string I had just played would light up, and it always showed a range--never a solid note (and yes, I was in tune). My ear works better than this tuner. A bandmate gave me a Snark, and it works MUCH better and stays clipped to the peg while I am tuning. When I tune, I tune the A, then do the other strings by ear, unless it is REALLY noisy. I double check everything with the tuner, and I am always spot on (and find this to be the case no matter which tuner I use, even an old school tuning fork). So the fact that this Intelli Tuner did not work for me indicates that it is no good. The reviews were good, so I was disappointed that it was a bad purchase.Go with the inexpensive SNARK. It comes in a little bag you can tuck into your case, it seems to pick up minor tuning differences better, the head adjusts more easily and in more positions. The Intelli Tuner just didn't work as well.

Not a Great Experience
I bought this after reading reviews on the the various clip-on tuners. It arrived in a box that had the seal broken,so who knows, it may have been a return. It worked well in finding the proper notes, but on the trebles, it "buzzed or vibrated". I have no idea if this is normal, I saw nothing about it on any other reviews, but I found it unpleasant, so I returned it. If it had not buzzed, my review would have been 4+ stars. Please advise if this is a dysfunctional effect or normal, as I haven't ordered another yet.

Works suprisingly well
I'm amazed at how well this device works. I've played guitar for many years and always tuned by ear, but so many times it seemed that I just couldn't get certain strings tuned right. I finally decided to buy an electronic tuner. The first time I used it, I thought it wasn't working right because I cross-checked the tuning by ear and, individually, some of the strings didn't sound right. I figured that I should give it a chance, however, and started playing and was blown away by how great the guitar sounded. I've never tried any other electronic tuner so I can't comment on how this one compares to others. This was a worthwhile purchase and a good value, as far as I'm concerned.
