This review is about three years late, but I wanted to share my experience because this has been an excellent first dash camera. I’ve had it running 24/7 for years, and it’s even survived two different cars without any issues. Most importantly, it helped save me after one accident by providing the footage I needed. Considering it’s been powered almost constantly, I’m honestly impressed that it’s never overheated, failed, or had any problems with the internal battery. I still have all of the original accessories, although I ended up buying the hardwire kit separately for 24/7 recording. The only issue I’ve had after all this time is that the suction cup mount finally broke, which is actually why I’m here looking for a replacement. Overall, it’s been a great product, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable dash camera. I hope I’ll able to find a replacement suction cup and get many more years out of it.

This product honestly feels like a scam for what it is being advertised for. I wish I could give this no stars and get a refund. When I first installed this dashcam, everything seemed to be going fine. It was recording, it turned on when my car turned on, and it didn't get in the way of my driving. Sure the front facing video seemed a bit overexposed, but other than that, it seemed fine. This was until I got rear-ended two days ago and thought that finally my paranoia and precautions would pay off, and I could give the video to my insurance company. This is when I realized that not only was my camera not recording, it apparently had stopped recording months ago! Despite the product page saying that there is loop recording, there is not and instead when the SD card was full, it stopped recording anything completely. There's no notification on the screen and will actually say that it's still recording when it clearly isn't. I've scoured through the user manual to see if I had missed something or didn't install it right, but no I followed it to a T because it was also advertised for having an easy installation. I followed the instructions, downloaded the app, which is a whole other problem in itself, and I even went on the Miden webpage for more information. This has been a very frustrating experience as I tried my best at finding a decent dashcam. I selected this because of the multiple reviews (over 1k), and many of them were good reviews, at least they were at the time I had purchased this. Now going through the page, I can see more recent unhappy customers that have been experiencing these same problems. Again, this has just been terrible and please stay safe out there.

**UPDATE** Like someone else commented on here, the suction cup failed after a year rendering the cam useless. Fortunately, I had spent a few dollars for an Asurian warranty so am sending the camera in for replacement or refund. This dash cam is very easy to suction to the windshield and remove to put up the sun shield. I don't want to leave it on the windshield in the South Florida sun/heat so take it down when not in use. Once it is suctioned to the windshield it stays firmly in place. It's very easy to tilt or turn the camera to make sure it's pointing exactly where I want it. I can only assume the recordings are being saved since I've not checked that, but the cam powers on and shows a red light to say it's recording. The picture is very clear and has a nice wide angle across the front. I'm not using the rear cam because my back window is tinted so I don't think it will work well and I don't want to drill holes to mount it outside the car. But I didn't buy it for the rear camera anyway. So far I am very happy with this dash cam and rate it 5 stars.

I do like that this has a 3 way camera system. Was fairly easy to install, with the exception of the buttons on the device. The menu button does not always seem to work correctly. Also, the plug does not always keep the device on. Acts like it has a short in it. Turns on then back off without touching it. The camera will lock videos or pictures and then will not erase them even when it says it has. So the memory card will fill up quickly. Takes several minutes to manually erase every item using the camera. Have also had the front camera fall several times, a couple of those times were while the vehicle was being driven which was a hazard. The menu button does not always show how to delete videos, sometimes that is a bit frustrating to find that feature. Have yet to set up app on phone so not sure if that is easier to delete them that way or not. But it does like to lock everything so they are a pain to delete. The front cable to plug in just barely reached to plug it into the cigarette lighter. If our vehicle would have been a bit larger, I am not sure it would have reached. We drive a mid sized SUV. On the plus side. Easy to install in the vehicle. I ran the cable all the way to the back of our SUV and still had a lot of cable left. I put it in place by using double sided tape and attached it to the upper side of the window. Not sure I would buy this brand again.

The recording quality is 4K, and when connected using a hardwire kit, it supports time-lapse recording while the vehicle is turned off. You simply need to identify the correct fuse lines for installation. The only drawback, which others have also mentioned, is that the unit tends to heat up. This is not immediately noticeable externally—only slightly warm near the USB-C port when touched—so it would not be a concern on its own. However, I believe the internal heat may occasionally trigger a protection mode, as the device sometimes shuts off or restarts unexpectedly. This issue is not critical at this time, as it only results in an occasional brief shutdown and restart. Aside from this, the dashcam performs very well. Due to this concern, I am deducting one star, but overall it remains a solid product.

My 18 year old was in a car crash recently and this dash cam really came in handy when the other driver tried to downplay the situation. I’m petty sure because of my child’s age but this camera showed what really happened

Avoid this camera. I needed a new dashcam and I purchased this one early 2025. In December i noticed that the screen was not on and when i tried to get it back on nothing work. I have to complete reset it with the reset button. Upon connecting again to my phone I noticed that it did had stopped recording in October. I kept with it thinking it was a one time thing and i was getting notifications that the card was full but i have it on loop recording. I pull the card and load it into my computer to only find out the card provided is prevented from deleting files from it so it is impossible to loop record. I tried all the ways to unlock it with no luck. I purchased a new card for it and tried it again. Now the screen will not come on and it only records when I have the app pulled up. Complete piece of garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Bought this dash cam plus a hard wire kit and a 128 SD card, not happy with the camera. First, the rear camera is made to attach to your license plate frame and not inside or in the rear window. Second, is it's random on and off cycling. Sometimes it will turn on when I get in the car and start up (rarely) but most of the time I have to turn it on. Then the $%!@ thing will randomly go off and I have to turn it on again. It will eventually go off again anywhere from 4 min to 20 min later and we repeat. On very rare occasions it will come back on by itself. The biggest issue... the seller will not respond to my emails. They did initially, asking for my order number so they could confirm which series camera I had, but after that they would not respond to my many emails asking for help in fixing this issue. I would have returned the camera to Amazon, but it is a lot of work to install, so I guess I have to keep reaching over every few miles and turn the piece of $#!) back on. Problems can happen with any item, but how the seller stands behind and the help they provide is everything and this seller hasn't stepped up. Avoid.
