You might want to try 3960 first. **Q: Can this be used by 5 year old ?** A: I think it would be fine for a young child. The size of the head isn't as long as other adult toothbrushes. Also, the bristles are so extremely soft, that they won't irritate the gums. Curaprox actually makes a toothbrush designed for children.
