Sharp images at >f5
I received the lens last week and took some pictures to check the quality.- At <f4, a little bit blurred even in the center area.- At >f5, nicely sharp in a whole image.I attach an example taken at f8 (on an APS-C sensor camera) and its actual size image of a selected area. Small letters, such as 'SACRAMENTO' and '100' on a road sign, can be seen clearly. It looks good resolution for me.This lens is cost-effective and lightweight. I like this.

For the money and the weight this lens is a heavy hitter
I bought this lens for backpacking and I have used it paired with my Sony a7riii. My main subject is landscape photography. I was attracted to the lens due to it's small size and lightweight, its solid optical quality (according to reviews), and the possibility of doing some macro photography. One all fronts, this lens has exceeded my expectations. I have a lot of Sony GM glass and this lens does not quite add up to those lenses; however, it costs only a fraction of the price. If lightweight and solid performance are what you are looking for then look no further. I am satisfied with how this lens performs for what I am using it for and give it a full-throated recommendation.

Compact and tack sharp.
I'm a photographer and vlogger. This isn't a GM lens so don't expect it to perform like one. However, I've yet to be disappointed in the images I get out of it. It's sharp, with an acceptable amount of falloff around the edges. The focus ring rotates smoothly (your mileage may vary). It's also great for video. In my use the motor has been whisper quiet. It's just wide enough for self-filming, and its size makes it a great vlogging lens. Its compact form factor makes it a fantastic walk-around lens for mirrorless cameras, reducing the weight to almost nothing and making your camera that much more inconspicuous. For those with bigger hands, however, you may find some issues holding your camera comfortably.

Average for the price
I would say this is average for the price. I’ve seen lots of reviews say it’s a good value for the money but I would say it’s performance is exactly what you’d expect for the price, of perhaps a little less than what you’d expect. It’s not in the same class as their 35 2.8 lens, the 45 1.8, or the 1.4 autofocus lenses they’ve put out in terms of image quality. If you want a wide angle walk around almost pancake lens on full frame for fun this is it. It’s ok at f2.8 for the web. If you always shoot stopped down, then this might be a real winner. Autofocus is ok, at least on a7iii.

Decent
It's a decent lens for the money but it's a bit soft wide open. It definitely not in the same league as their 35mm.

Me like
Considering the price for mirrorless lenses this is great for me. It's extremely lightweight ,so light I didn't think a lens was in the box. Pretty sharp , needs a little extra post to correct some minor issues like color but that's up to you. Used on the sony a7r3. Great lens.

Can't beat the price for its value
For the price, it's a homerun pancake lens that produces some great landscapes on my Sony A7III. There's some haziness at the edges in bright sunlight but not in an entirely negative aesthetic way. It often times adds to the photo in a dreamy sort of way. It also works well with my cropped Sony A6000, which I use as a massive upgrade to the kit Sony 16-50mm lens.

Outstanding value, sharp center, ultra quiet fast motor, very well built
If you can find a used-amazon -warehouse deal here on this lens, i would jump on it. I've been using this lens for walk-around and indoor shooting my family around the house. I love this focal length for indoor use because its wide enough to cover everything up close and wide. And it has minimal distortion so shooting people with this lens is really nice. A 35 or 24mm is perfect for indoors casual shooting... i find 50/85mm too long inside the house. I chose this 24mm focal length because it will double as a light weight wideangle outside too. If youre just a casual shooter for family and vacation/streetshoot use, this is a really great economical solution.pros:--really awesome bang for buck: clearly cheaper than native sony, very satisfying buy.--super sharp in center even at f2.8, and very acceptable edge--AF motor is quick and ultra quiet so great for even video use--eye AF works great on my sony a7-III--ultra LIGHT WEIGHT and SMALL. matches with sony a7 body amazingly, thus great for travel. the balance of weight is basically perfect with the a7 body.--very well built. feels solid, MF ring is smoothcons:--corners are not as sharp as native sony lenses (but look at the price)I dont really have anything bad to say about this lens. im super impressed.

Possibly used?
The lens didn’t come in a sealed box which makes me wonder if it’s used. Overall it’s a good lens and light but would have liked to see it sealed
