I love the way this detergent works. I especially love the smell of the Juniper & Sandalwood. I also love that the container is cardboard that will breakdown in landfills unlike plastic containers. The only negative thing I can say is that a couple of times I have received this where the product had seeped out and made a huge mess in the shipping package that got all over some other items. ALSO, I have had a few unopened cartons sitting in my storage room for not much more than a month, the product starts to seep out a bit at the bottom seam of the cardboard carton. To prevent that, I now just pour the detergent into a glass container upon receiving.

I have used CleanCult's dish soap for years now (shipped willy-nilly and often in oversize boxes with a single sheet of packing paper) and had zero issues with the paper cartons so I figured people were somehow misusing the laundry detergent cartons, causing them to fail. I got one order of the laundry detergent and had zero issues with all 3 cartons, so I was feeling pretty smug. It's good, concentrated, detergent and gets my clothes clean while having a relatively benign impact on the earth.Then I got the second set of 3 cartons and, holy heck, I apologize to all y'all I insulted over the carton issue. I opened the inner shipping box and was greeted with dried, slimy detergent spilled all over. It's so gross. One carton was fine, one carton was coming apart at the top seam and the last one had come apart in the same place and opened up enough to leak all over. It was probably one load worth of detergent, but it was very irritating to clean up. I had an empty old detergent bottle I decanted the CleanCult detergent into, so it wasn't a complete loss.However, I don't know if I have it in me to take a chance on ordering more if it's just going to leak all over. I have limited time and limited patience to deal with manufacturing fails. The cartons are splitting right where a milk carton would if you were opening the top to make a spout. Why do their laundry detergent cartons fail when the dish soap cartons are stout and leak-free? What gives?

I have a jug of brand named detergent and just add these to the jug. Best find ever for my sensitive skin needs.

Effective, Eco-Friendly Laundry Solution!I'm thoroughly impressed with Clean Cult Ultra Concentrated Laundry Detergent. Not only does it clean my clothes effectively, but it's also kind to the environment. The fact that it uses 90% less plastic is a huge win in my book. I've been using this for a month now. If you use the right amount it is relatively economical and does the job. I even tested it on a soy sauce stain and it came out completely with a regular washing. The scent is interesting--as others have said an imitation lemon smell--however, if you thoroughly dry the items in a dryer, the smell goes away. I like to hang somethings to dry in the nicer weather and those things retain some of that odd scent. I bought the glass container sold for this product, and it makes it easy to measure the correct quantity and is not messy, like pouring from the carton would be. And I appreciate the lower waste aspect of the packaging. All in all, I like it, just not quite enough for the fifth star because of the residual smell if things aren't thoroughly dried.
