The difference between the two is night and day. It was so very comfortable from the first use. The swelling in my legs is down considerably. I was able to sleep with this pillow the whole night and it hasn't caused any additional discomfort. This is the best money that I have spent on myself. I didn't notice much of a smell like what was talked about in previous reviews.
