Quite Nice
I'm not generally a big fan of composite/laminate furniture but this is about the nicest I've seen. The quality of the parts and engineering is high, the design is solid and it looks really, really good. Further, the instructions were very clear and everything is meticulously numbered and identified so it is very easy to follow. In fact, the results turned out so good, I'm ordering a second one now!

Overall - delighted, some notes about assembly
SUMMARY:- A great office piece where there is limited space, need for some filing storage and shelving--a tidy and efficient combo.- An involved assembly with clear instructions that should be followed exactly.- Clean and quality look and functionality--above expectations for the price, considering free delivery with Prime.- Nothing was missing or broken upon delivery.LOOK & FEEL:This is a nice looking product all particle board interior with a human-made laminate over top. The laminate is nice quality and looks very real to actual wood, which was a nice surprise. It has a textured matte finish which seems like it will wear well, not as easily scratch-able as a higher gloss finish. If assembled exactly as instructed it feels very solid. Some other nice points were the feet, which have an elegant look and the hardware on the drawers--nothing fancy, but solid and clean looking.FUNCTION:The shelves are a good size, with nice depth, to hold books and also some knick-knacks in front of the books. They do not not fit taller illustrated books, however. 6" x 9" no problem, but those with a 11"+ spine don't fit.The drawers have a middle support bar (100% particle board that sits under the interior) that allows the option to use them for storage other than files. Some filing cabinets like this just have the thin bottom board which will bend and sag if anything is is put in them--NOT the case here. The drawers are also very deep, lots of space. Be careful with weight (follow manufacturer recommendations).PACKAGING:There were no dings, scratches, or cracks on anything in the box. The laminate pieces were all wrapped in light foam to prevent scratching. All pieces were included--nothing missing. Those who have reported damage on delivery, may be related to transit and delivery. It's a very big and heavy box and those delivering may not always have the support needed (two people) for lifting and moving.ASSEMBLY:I don't mind complicated, multi-step assembly. If you DO NOT like a complicated assembly I would recommend EITHER PAYING MORE FOR ASSEMBLY or CHOOSE ANOTHER PRODUCT.I completed the assembly in two shifts. The first evening I completed the main cabinet and shelves, that was maybe 1.5-2 hours. The next evening I did the drawers, which took maybe an 30-45 minutes at most. TAKE YOUR TIME!HAVE TWO PEOPLE for moving the box and for tipping the shelf up. Because it's particle board, it's pretty heavy.BE VERY CAREFUL WITH HARDWARE there is JUST enough--no extra pieces. Make sure you place itsomewhere where it won't roll away and make sure you have good light for assembly.DRAWER PULLS ARE VERY GREASY--oiled to support opening and closing that the substance used was difficult to wash off, so consider a pair of disposable or washable gloves for this part, or just be prepared to tinker with all of them at once and then wash your hands for a few minutes. Probably a mechanics type wash would take it off very quickly, if you have that on hand. The instructions were very clear. I missed the piece about putting the back on before tipping the unit up. It did not collapse without it, but make sure not to do the same and install the backing before moving. And PUT IN EVERY NAIL! :) It makes all the difference in the solidity of this piece. Before I put it on everything was a bit tippy, and once it was added on it's not wiggly at all.FYI: Other than the very intensive install, make sure the unit doesn't t have any forward lean where you use it. Like if you have textured floors or an older house that might have some "ups and downs." If the drawers lean forward at all and there is weight in them there is a chance they may want to roll open and there is no magnet or other clasp that holds them closed. A small shim under the front legs before adding things could also prevent this.

Sturdy, solid when assembled
This bookshelf/file cabinet is very solid after assembling; I did use wood glue when applicable in addition to provided hardware. Much higher quality than other DIY furniture I’ve put together. Wood was in very good shape, pilot holes were properly drilled and instructions were in (actual) english and well written. The size is perfect for the a narrow space I had available. Standard file folders fit sideways (perpendicular to drawer front), legal fit lengthways, which is nice flexibility for a file cabinet of this size. Drawers are solid, slide well and close completely. I did cut off the bottom of the legs prior to assembling. I thought it would help stability and I didn’t think they would add anything to my situation. They cut perfectly, solid wood for that piece. I would rather not have one more place for dust to collect, and am happy I made this change. I wasn’t sure what I would get after reading other reviews, but this is exactly what I was looking for.

Absolutely love it!
Ok first I would like to mention that the drawers are VERY deep and sturdy enough to hold quite a bit of weight, which is great for me as an artist! I have put lots of binders and sketchbooks in them and still have plenty of space for hanging files in the top drawer. The shelves perfectly fit my D&D books snuggly and they are tall enough that I feel comfortable burning my incense and short candles on them. It says in the instructions not to put anything on the top shelf but it's certainly sturdy enough too provided it's nothing too heavy. It looks great next to my desk! Definitely a good purchase even if it was a bit over my budget!

Collapsed 4 weeks after Assembling.
Delivered 4/1/2020Assembled 4/5/2020Everything seemes great. Seemed to be well made. Love the look and the small footprint of this product.Collapsed 5/3/2020A few days after assembling we started haveing trouble closing bottom drawer. Turns out the bottom couldn't hold the weight of the product. Thank goodness I was there (and not the 18 month old) when it collapsed and there was someone else in the house that could run to my rescue. As I unloaded it I weighed everything which was a grant total for both drawers (contents only) and the shelves of 75 lbs.According to Sauder the Warranty only cover individual components of the unit. They are unable to refund for the unit.Amazon will refund but you have to disassemble and put back in a box and send everything back for the refund.....kinda like putting a memory foam mattress back in the box. Would have been nice if they would reimburse me for the time it took to take it apart and box it up.

No regrets...
I love this bookcase/file cabinet. First of all, read and understand the weight limits, they’re not making it up.Did I put it together? Noooope, my skilled hubby did, in about 30 minutes. The directions were hilarious to me. He breezed thru it.This case is beautiful and one of a kind, I looked for an alternative even remotely like it, couldn’t find it.No regrets here.

Best shelf ever
Doesn’t take up lots of space and helps everything we need. We bought two and spaced apart to put a small table in between. Hold our files and allows book storage. Not tall shelves so average to small sized books fit best. I’m happy with this purchase.

It is sturdy!
I really like the colour, the size and the overall sturdiness. The filing drawers have good hardware.2 negative points: I cannot fit binders on the shelves. Also, it is important to anchor the unit to the wall because it can be tippy but the anchor shows as it is above the top shelf.
