Red Perilla - Aka Shiso

I've got a nice crop of shiso for umeboshi! This is the second time I've purchased this brand and have success both times. There was no great secret for planting, as the seeds are pretty forgiving. I sprinkled them around, sprinkled a bit of top soil, then watered. In about a week, the sprouts popped and about two months later I'm ready for a partial harvest. My only mistake was planting in a less than perfect area, as the space doesn't get full sun during the day. I think the plants would be a bit taller had I found a better spot. In any case, this shows how forgiving this plant can be. I hope you enjoy similar success!

Followed instructions on packet and almost every seed sprouted. Got this after another packet of seeds failed to germinate. Seedlings are looking healthy and strong.

Maybe it's me. But everything else I'm planted has grown. These did not.

Excellent seeds. I planted them in different mediums and they all germinated. Plants are growing healthy and strong. Highly recommend these seeds.

These seeds worked fantastically and germinated within days. Before this, I bought red shiso seeds from 3 other vendors and NONE of those germinated...but those vendors were also cheaper. Guess I got what I paid for.In fact, I sprinkled a generous amount of Kitazawa's red shiso seeds in anticipation that only a few would germinate. I would estimate over 90% of them germinated.Kitazawa is a little more expensive, but it's worth it. Paying a little more for excellent seeds is better than buying cheap seeds that don't work.
