The Main Issue: The Magnetic Thumbstick Caps The biggest contributor to the magnetic field issues is actually the magnetic thumbstick caps (the parts that screw onto the stems to hold the removable covers). Because these TMR sensors are high-sensitivity "Quantum" detectors, they pick up the pull from those magnets immediately. Since the caps sit directly above the sensors, they act like a constant weight pulling your aim off-center. Out of the box, the magnets in my caps were pulling the sensors so badly that my character was constantly walking forward on its own. The "Balancing Act" Headache: It isn't impossible to get these working, but unless you win the "Hardware Lottery" and they happen to align perfectly, you are in for some work. To get mine playable, I’ve had to: * Swap the left and right magnetic caps to change the polarity of the pull and help the software find a new center. * Order Ferrous (Iron) tape to try and shield the sensors from the magnetic field of the caps. * Spend a lot of time on a calibration screen trying to "zero out" the sticks. The Verdict: These sensors deserve 5 stars for the build quality and the feel of the sticks. However, for Elite Series 2 users, this is not a simple plug-and-play install. I bought these to avoid using an inner deadzone, but because of the pull from the caps, I’m still currently stuck at a 7% deadzone. I would not recommend these for this specific controller unless you are prepared for the effort it takes to balance them against the controller's own magnetic parts. Don't waste money on this thing!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly and had no issues! *by R***Y on November 10, 2025* Figured I’d leave a good review since a LOT of people who get this complain that it doesn’t work because of the magnetic interference of the back paddles. It is true that they do interfere with the joysticks BUT that’s why you have to recalibrate it. Many people write their review without using the Xbox accessories app to recalibrate the sticks. After doing that I had no issues whatsoever with the sticks and I’m currently using it this very moment. They’re easy to install if you have the correct tools and skills, if you don’t I’d recommend you get it done professionally as these controllers can be pricy. Overall, these worked great in my two controllers I installed them into!
