This is the perfect gadget for anyone who loves bubble waffles! After trying them at a local cafe, I decided to make my own, and this machine made it so easy. I made one recipe of waffles, which made 9 waffles. The first seven of them cooked, but not perfectly because the iron cannot be flipped. The top side cooks because the batter expands during the cooking. This is problem #1. Usually for an appliance that has two hot plates, each side has a handle, including those that don't flip. For instance, an Amazon brand sandwich press/waffle iron does not flip, and has a handle on each side. I burnt my finger from touching the edge of the bottom plate because it has no handle. There were a couple times the top plate is stuck that requires holding the top plate, while using a thong to hold on to the bottom plate to open it when the waffle is ready to come out. I did use nonstick spray before batter was poured. This is problem #2. Problem #3, the size of the dimples on the hot plates are too small, making the "bubble" part of the waffle too small, which is not the size of bubbles of the authentic HK style. It greatly affected the texture of the waffles. Overall size of the plate is ok for snack size waffles and I did check the product dimensions before purchasing. The build quality is ok for the price, but it failed a short time during first use, which is an indicator of durability and longevity. It is just another cheaply made generic small kitchen appliance that is out to the market in record time. Personally I do not have a problem with products like this, since I shop for products on Amazon all the time. This one just made it to #1 of list of being poorly designed and lack durability. It barely serves the function of making a bubble waffle look-a-like. However, there's one nice part in this appliance - the nonstick coating.

The moment I opened the waffle iron I noticed that the lid is very wobbly and loose and feels like it will come off at any moment. I will be returning it.

I love how small and useful this is my original one broke and I had to get a new one this is fun to use based on the pattern that it gives the waffles my daughter love the shapes also thick and easy to use doesn’t give off a lot of smell I love it great buy

Manual is easy to understand, product is easy to use and within a few minutes, my waffle was ready😌. I love that it is non-stick as well. Overall, good product👌

I absolutely love it. It cooks very quickly and I love using it to make little bubble cones for ice cream. It does get really hot really fast and its very easy to clean. You can remove the plates but you would need a screwdriver. It is non stick so you dont have to worry about caked up product on it and it has no metal smell. Definitely a plus for kids.

I bought this cheap version of a bubble waffle maker because I know it will only be used a few times a year. It doesn't flip like the better ones (and like most bubble waffle recipes suggest) but I found I could manually flip it and it worked perfectly. (The unit is light and very manageable without hot pads for me but try it with hot pads first.) The recipe I used was on Pinterest, I don't think regular waffle mix will work. I highly recommend this for a newbie at bubble waffle making.

If there was a zero rating I would give it. It came used, uncleaned, very dirty. There still has batters around it.
