Fascinating documentary about British Royal Weddings
This two part series explores the weddings of the British royal family, from the queen mother in 1923 to Charles and Camilla in 2005. It was aired in 2011 in the run-up to the wedding of William and Kate so their wedding is NOT included. The first episode details the weddings of Queen Elizabeth, the queen mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and Princess Margaret. The history of the courtship, engagement and wedding are presented with newsreel footage and interviews with people who were involved in the proceedings, including details of the wedding dresses, pomp and circumstance and bridesmaids. Episode two begins with the wedding of Princess Anne and details the weddings if Charles and Diana, Andrew and Sarah, Edward and Sophie, and finally Charles and Camilla.A fascinating look at the history of modern royal weddings and the importance these ceremonies have for the British people. If you love all things royal or are simply a lover of history, you will enjoy this series.

The history of British royal weddings since the Queen Mum
Another great video from the BBC collection. You will enjoy seeing Queen Elizabeth II as a young bride, walking on the arm of a dashing Prince Phillip. It was nice that Elizabeth's mother, Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, was also featured in this video. I had hoped to see actual wedding ceremonies, like Diana's wedding ceremony which I remember watching on TV, but the DVD featured incidentals, like the making of wedding dresses and bouquets, and just snippets of the various royal brides walking into church. I was spoiled after obtaining the complete wedding ceremony of Will and Kate last year, I had hoped for more of the same on this video, but it is what it is, and it's still a good watch. I have a more positive image of Camilla and Charles after seeing this film. They both deserve some happiness and I'm glad they had a lovely wedding day, as depicted.

A Rare Glimpse of Royal Weddings Gone By!
I've been a serious student of the British Royal Family for over forty years. This video is delightful. I loved the older video clips best since they were new to me. It was a pleasure to see some of the lesser-known royals, such as Princess Alexandra as a bride. I was disappointed to see Prince Edward and Sophie's wedding being given such short shrift. Please pay attention to the date range: 1923 - 2005. You won't see the wedding of Prince William and Katherine Middleton.

Royal Weddings
If you're looking for an in-depth history of royal weddings, this is not it. This is a very brief, fun glimpse at how royal weddings and traditions associated with them have evolved over the last century. Beginning with the wedding of Albert and Elizabeth in 1923, each of the royal wedding is given an overview, save for Edward and Sophie's wedding in 1999. All in all, the DVD is a satisfying purchase for anyone with an interest in British royalty.

It was...interesting
I enjoyed seeing the bits from the Queen Mother's wedding (Note: I am American) and the footage from Queen Elizabeth's wedding. Most of what was shown from Prince Charles' & Lady Diana's wedding was the same shots that have been shown over & over since 1981. The backstory behind the dresses & flowers was quite interesting. I was hoping that it would have some info from Prince William & Kate Middleton's wedding, but maybe this was made before then? Not bad for $2,99, but I think I would have rather caught it when broadcast.

I would have enjoyed something a bit more indepth
An enjoyable look at Royal weddings, with some fascinating tidbits about the dress designers and bakers. I would have enjoyed something a bit more indepth, but this made for fun Sunday afternoon viewing.

A Royal Family Nut
I really enjoyed this DVD, but then I am a bit bonkers about all things Royal. And I totally enjoy weddings. Those are the 2 requirements that are absolutely necessary to enjoy this DVD. If you do not posess these, do not buy this DVD.

For the wedding lover
The b&w clips of the earlier weddings are a bit grainy, but it's not unexpected given the time period.
