This is really good movie very well done you will enjoy it. Highly recommend it.

I liked the story, and more but I haven't watched this in awhile. If I say more I might get it wrong. Lol

I WATCHED THIS MOVIE even though I'm not a surfer..because the story interest me..about this young 22 yr old kid..of Santa Cruz,.surfing the marvick wave for the first time..coached buy mr.frosty..who spoke of his " four pillars of the human foundation "The physical,.the mental, the emotional, and the Spiritual..of which he admitted that wobbly in that department..and when you are WOBBLY..in that MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR LIFE ...CAN ONLY MEAN..that he did not have an intimate relationship with Christ..his first of that human foundation was " the physical " to build Jay's strength..Then frosty mentioned .THE "THESIS "..TO PROVE OR DISPROVE something..meaning RESERCH...AND HE STOPPED THERE..well MY friends..the first 3Are pertaining to flesh....the last..pertains to God Almighty..and THE only way to come to him,..is through his son Jesus Christ...and it always will..be..because you will NEVER. understand the spiritual ..through your fleshly carnel brain.. because his word tells you NOT.. to lean to your own understanding..SO..MY friends..before you even THINK..about surfing 🏄‍♂️ in those ( GREAT WHITE )..invested waters ...you must have a personal relationship with Christ..buy receiving him into your HEART..AND BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT..then and only then..will you be lead byThe spirit..into the spirit ..and he will direct your path through thatMaverick wave..that belongs..to him...and protect you from looking like a tasty seal..that belongs to the ( GREAT White shark.)..that hunt in the ( RED TRIANGLE ).. where there are more shark attacks in that region than anywhere else...signed U.S.M.C RETIRED..oh..and P.S..WATCH THE MOVIE ( " GRAY HOUND " ) BASED ON ACTUAL EVENTS..STARING TOM HANKS..AS A CHRISTIAN CAPTAIN OF A US DISTROYER DURING WW2..AS HE HIMSELF SAID FROM HIS OWN LIPS. A small prayer..." acknowledge Him and He Shall direct thy path "..its a great movie..and lastly...MAN DOES NOT COME FROM THE SEA..and I know that some readers of this review..may not like my review..And that's..ok...that's what reviews are all about..letting others know what was liked and, what wasn't...anyway..enjoy...

Didn't like Gerald Butler playing a surfer but I've seen the documentary about Mavericks love those big waves love big Wave Riders

I love this movie. It has good values for kids and adults.

A captivating and autobiographical account of the life of the large wave surfer, Jay Moriarty, and his mentor, Frosty Hesson. The movie describes the inherent dangers and thrills of riding the waves at Mavericks, in Half Moon Bay, in northern California. Jay was a young man with great courage and integrity. I recommend this movie to a teenage or adult audience, and to those thrill seekers who have a keen interest in large wave surfing.

I absolutely love this film. Moving, inspiring, deep, just great. It is my new favourite film, on par with if not 10 times better than Point Break. I don't know what success this movie had I was a year or so behind finding out about it - but I was incredibly moved and inspired by it - I hope it and everyone involved got the success and accomplishment they wanted from it because it's worth it.

I've seen quite a few surfing movies (or supposed surfing movies) but what I love about this one is that it actually hits my emotions. People can get very critical and technical when it comes to specific genre movies and sometimes miss the big picture. For me, the story (based on true story) was great, interesting and believable - taking me back to days I spent hanging out at the beach. I thought the surfing scenes were good and the soundtrack was awesome. Will watch this one over and over for years to come!

Came across this Movie while browsing for 3D films. Three years since its release so was going for a great price.What a great choice as this is a great movie, based apparently on a true story.Well worth the purchase and the soundtrack, especially the tidal wave scenes, had my wireless sub-woofer working overtime.

This is an easy and great film to watch. The making of it is excellent. A great Gerrad Butler film.
