I was looking for a new face wash and I believe I found it. First ingredient is not water so a pea size amount goes a long way. I have a beard but found that that amount was enough to wash my face, ears, throat, and neck - which I need because of wearing sunscreen. My face is pretty sensitive and sunscreens make me breakout so I need something that I can use regularly that will give me a good clean. The scent doesn't smell cheap, it had a botanical/spa like smell that is rather calming. The ingredient list is impressive - lots of natural oils and is paraben free. That is important to me. And since it's rich in natural oils, it doesn't dry out your skin. Some facewashes can cause my skin to dry and crack - this doesn't do that. The face wash itself is black - I tried it with my Clarisonic but didn't want to chance discoloring it so I jist use my finger tips. I also like that is made in the USA.

I was not asked to write this review, but I did receive this product for free as part of a promotion offer from Lather & Wood Shaving Company. This is my honest review after using their face wash for the first time this morning.I was actually overseas when the product arrived, and just used it for the first time this morning. It was delightful! It seemed to do a great job of cleaning my face, smelled pleasant without being overbearing, and left me feeling refreshed. My skin wasn't left tight and in need of moisturizer, as often happens when I use regular soap. On the whole, I liked it and will continue using it.

Let me start with I loved this facewash. The way it smelled and how it felt on my face was amazing and it really opened my pores. This morning, however, I opened a new one and it did not smell the same way and also felt very different on my face. The package is identical to the old one. Pretty sad about it to be honest.

I really like this face wash. Leaves my face feeling fresh and clean without that dry feeling many others give me. However, the soap is quite thick so it needs to be in a bottle you can leave upside down to keep the soap ready to dispense. This current bottle forces you to shake the bottle like an old ketchup bottle which is annoying. They should put in a larger version of the bottle they use for their facial scrub.

I'm allergic to a lot of products but I can use this and I like it a lot. I'll keep buying it if you keep making it. It doesn't dry me out and it is a good product.

First of all I will caveat my review with the suggestion to be careful around lightly colored clothes and towels because this stuff stains. That being said, I really love this stuff. I'm a chef by trade so my face is a mixture of sweaty and greasy when I get home from work. This stuff is great at getting me to feel clean again. I use it when I'm in the shower, wet my face and then scrub it in. Yes, it does have a slickness like other reviewers said but since I use it in the shower I am able to thoroughly rinse off. It leaves my face feeling soft and extremely clean. I am usually very sensitive to soaps and the such but this gives me no issues. I will continue to purchase this product!

Where has this product been all my life?? For so long, I've tried different soaps, cleansers, scrubs, and washes. Each one offered some benefits, and each had some drawbacks. Some left my skin feeling greasy, others dried me out. Some smelled great but performed poorly, others were unscented, but did better in performance.This product is the whole package. Performs well, leaves great results and smells great! My skin is cleaner, softer and more soothed after using it. I am loving the way my face feels after washing with the Wood and Lather Activated Charcoal Daily Face Wash. It is truly a remarkable product, and I'm recommending it strongly to my family and friends.

I like it more than I expected. Be warned, this will discolor/stain light colored wash cloths. But, for doing what it claims, I’d say it’s pretty darn good. I’ve read some don't care for the “slickness” and have to rinse more. I don’t find that to be the case or a problem as I’m a wet shaver and find that it’s a good step in morning routine and as pre-shave cleaning. Time will tell as I continue to evaluate, but so far so good.
