Full of tasty easy to follow & inexpensive healthy recipes - I wasn't expecting all that much from this book having already purchased so called 15 minute meals books where the meals take over an hour. This one stands miles apart from the rest in terms of not just easy to follow, tasty recipes but also you don't need to buy 15 different ingredients just to make one dinner. Out of the 217 pages, 160 are dedicated to recipes only, with the others being some exercise plans, an introduction which gives a background onto how Joe came about writing the book and Getting Started which gives all the advice of store cupboard essentials and how this diet actually works. This book has so many healthy and tasty recipes that are not over complicated so they suit everyone's taste including classics such as in a Hurry Curry Fried Rice, Turkey Burgers, Meatballs & Pasta, Singapore Noodles, Piri Piri Rice with Garlic Prawns and so many more. There are also a few easy to make Smoothie recipes and overnight oats recipes. Best of all these recipes are easy to follow so I'm not put off making them by a long list of instructions. They are primarily based on the protein concept so there's not much in the way of potato or refined carbohydrates, however, unlike Atkins they are not excluded and there are plenty of vegetables included with each recipe to make them balanced and healthy. I've only had this book a few days but the recipes I've made so far have been delicious and easy to make and if you exclude the washing up & cooking time they really did only take 15 minutes to prepare. I love the style in which Joe Wicks narrates the book, it's all about having fun and being laid back about cooking. The serving size of recipes are all either to serve 1 or to serve 2 which is ideal for me because I'm the only one on a diet here so whilst my other diet books are to serve 4 which makes it hard work trying to divide the quantities by a quarter, now I no longer have to do that I can just cook for me and either cook 1 days worth of 2 days worth. I can highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to go on a diet that is easy, low cost, not time consuming and actually works. Review: Excellent for newcomers and as an accompaniment to those on the 90day SSS - I'm coming to this book as I approach the end of cycle 2 of the 90Day SSS and I think it is both an excellent introduction for people who are new to the ideas/model and a great accompaniment to the programme itself. To expand on the latter point first, the SSS plans are incredibly detailed (my cycle 1 was a 110 page PDF of education and recipes) and you use complete recipes to learn the idea of timing your macros whilst also learning to cook. It's just text though, so during cycle 2, where it is less about set recipes and more about pick'n'mix principles where you create your own combinations based on ingredients lists, if you're not creative in the kitchen, you can get a bit stuck. When this happens, it's about using Joe's social media videos, pictures and updates from others on the plan to get new ideas. What this book does brilliantly is present simple dishes in all their glory, which can inspire new ideas as you simply tweak to match your plan. Like the look of the turkey burger? Make it with beef. Cottage pie look nice? Create a bolgnese with the same method and different ingredients. Don't like the idea of tuna salad? Swap the tuna for chicken. For those new to the whole method, the book brilliantly covers who Joe is and why he does what he does. It then provides insight and evidence behind his approach to eating real food and not dieting, explains HIIT and why it is more effective long term than steady state training and positions the importance on carbs, fats and proteins (and tons of greens!) to fuel the body. Meals are then set out very clearly in different sections of the book for training days, non-training days, snacks, treats (we don't get them on SSS! Not officially anyway...) and then a simple overview of HIIT exercises. This last section is fairly small, but that's all it needs to be. The whole idea is that HIIT (elevating the HR in bursts with matching rest periods) can be anything you like - sprints on the bike, burpees, sprint intervals when jogging, star jumps - as long as you do it for 20 mins (which is actually only 13-15 maximum efforts). As far as prep, this can suit your lifestyle. Whilst I'm sure prepping days in advance would save time, I've really enjoyed learning to cook so the extent of my prep is planning the meals I'll want and getting the right ingredients into the fridge, then cooking each meal fresh at the time. You do need to get some basic extras in, which are detailed in the book (some herbs and spices, coconut oil, sauces, perhaps yoghurt and other veg you might not typically have), but once you have these you don't need to buy them every time. Can you make the meals in 15 minutes? Not all of them, no, but most of them are easily made in 15 mins once you become familiar with the process. And as it mentions in the book, the ones that take longer are generally worth it (the sweet potato cottage pie is amazing!). The first few times you cook will take longer, as you're reading the ingredients list, getting your pans ready etc. and are probably querying some of the steps as you go. Initially I maybe spent 30mins or more on a number of the dishes, which I now throw together in 15 minutes, including chopping up veg and meat. The biggest thing for me with this book and obviously the plan too, is the confidence I have gained in the kitchen. Through university I learned to not burn certain foods, and over the last 10 years I've become OK at maybe 3-5 core dishes which rely on pre-packed sauce or whatever. Now, at the youthful age of 31, I have cupboards full of spices and herbs I have genuinely never before owned, I make up my owns sauces to go with whatever is in the fridge and, giving myself a break for Christmas, I've never eaten 1) so much and 2) so well in my life. The 90day SSS is excellent in my experience, but it won't be for everyone, not least because it's a large financial outlay. This book is a really good way to start learning and start getting fit/healthy and changing the way you look at food. For under £10 currently, there's a ton of useful information here. It does take a bit of effort, which again won't be for everyone. To make the best of it you should plan ahead for a few meals, not just for batch cooking (which I've never done), but so that you use up your food. Whilst it is fairly easy, it's still 'proper cooking', so if you only plan to dip in and out for a recipe here and there, you will end up with potentially expensive waste. Work out what you like and enjoy using the book!

Straight talking Health & Nutrition !
I'm 38 and have been very confused about what to eat and what not to eat for years. I have been trying to find good advice but stuff on tv and online will always contradict what I thought was healthy. FINALLY Joe came along . About damn time someone talked sense in public !! The confusion over low fat foods he debunked and now I understand THAT'S been part of my problem as well as thinking foods were evil actually , in fact, aren't ! What I enjoy about this book is the fact it's not a case of ' Here's a recepie book to follow' get on with it. He actually has taken time at the beginning to explain everything , in depth , about fats , carbohydrates and what they give to our bodies. I'm not looking to lose weight - I'm genuinely looking for a lifestyle change. This book is in depth . I no longer feel wicked if I fancy something like white bread . Joe also explains that drinking alcohol halts weight loss and explains why. It's so refreshing for me to find someone who doesn't have a recepie book full of odd things I've never heard of and my local Tesco/Asda actually stock the ingredients. I tried another book by a lady who was also well known but all her recepies - my husband and kids disliked everything but one meal. Joe wicks book has REAL food that fills us up and provides nutrition that our bodies need to function. It's so refreshing to me as a mother that my child actually requests meals out of this book. His chicken leek & mushroom pie - Oh my word - it's delicious. At the back of the book he actually has photographs of him doing workout session step by step so it's kind of like him actually being our personal trainer ( who wouldn't want that ?!). This has been the best buy I've ever bought. Because everything is explained in depth and in sections , it's easy to take in so it doesn't feel overwhelming to take it all in. Highly , highly recommend. I've purchased another book for a friend of mine who is also impressed . THANK YOU JOE WICKS!! I have a happy family !

Get lean - in 16!
Had already undertaken and just about finished Joe's 90 day SSS plan when I bought this book. The plan essentially works a treat by teaching you to eat more, better and exercise right. To date I've lost about 18 KG. The recipes in the plan are very simple - as are the ones in this book - quick and easy to make. There are two sides to that - because they are quick and easy to make they can be over simple taste wise leaving them lacking a certain something. The good point of that is it keeps them quick and easy, no need for cupboards full of very expensive hardly used ingredients. What I do it I use these sorts of recipes in the main (and similar ones you can devise yourself once you understand the construct of the plan) and every so often make a more complex Lean recipe from other books you can buy from differing authors but on the same principle. The motivational part of the book is good and the reality is if you follow the guides in the book and the HIITS that he gives out free online (and you dont need the motivational email trainer bit) then this is a very cost effective way of doing his 150 quid plan for about a tenner. A worthwhile buy.

Great, quick, easy, healthy meals
Joe Wicks is a miracle worker (have you seen his transformation pics on Instagram!!) and I really like his approach of moving away from low calorie diets and getting away from the Sad Step. As a 30 year old woman I have spent years trying to force myself to stick to weird diets in order to lose weight. In fact when I was about 17 I convinced myself that I could get all the nutirients I needed from a very well thought through diet of exclusively ham, eggs and apples and I tried to stick to this for all of about 12 hours until I caved and ate all the kit kats in Bedfordshire. Needless to say, the slim fast diet didn't work either as you're not educating yourself in how to cook to fuel your body for life in general and exercise. Low calorie diets are far too mentally taxing to stick to and when you have to actually function on a day to day basis rather than just sit in a dark room and thinking about how thin you're going to be if you resist the extra half a banana. Lean in 15 is a new approach, and my god the portions are big, I mean really BIG! I cook for myself and my weight lifting partner and I often don't cook as much as Joe recommends because it's simply too much food for us. Having said that, we are not following the Lean in 15 program, I just use the book for a bit of inspiration for quick, easy and healthy meals. I know from having read the testimonials and seeing the pictures that the food is a good amount if you're actually following the exercise program in conjunction with the food. The only very small thing I would say is that Joe is not big on seasoning and some of his meals can be slight bland (sorry!!). This isn't a problem for me because I'm quite a proficient cook so I just add in a bit of spice or herbs where I think is appropriate but I was a bit surprised when I cooked the first couple of meals to the letter and found that they had a bit of something missing. All in all, a great book. Thank you Joe!

Best recipe book EVER!
I bought this book along with the other recipe book, The shape Plan. They both arrived quickly by post and in excellent condition. It does exactly what it promises: well balanced, nutritional meals that are delicious and really do take only 15 minutes to prepare! I have always hated cooking as well as being hopeless at it and suddenly, with this book I can cook! My teenage kids are loving the meals too, so much so that they have started taking an interest in cooking themselves. What's not to love! The recipes couldn't be simpler, they use basic store cupboard ingredients that don't cost a fortune and they taste great as well as healthy. There is also a lot of well explained nutritional information and a guide to exercise and working out which helps you to really understand the philosophy behind Joe Wicks amazing health and fitness plans. This book really does deliver and if you combine it with Joe's HIIT workouts (on social media) I guarantee you will see your body changing shape in no time. It really does work: leaner, fitter, stronger and healthier. It's not a diet, it's a way of life.

Okay but nothing new
I was really excited for this book having been recommended it by several reliable sources. However, despite all the usual marketing hype of "this is not a diet" and "eat more, exercise less" etc - it definitely is a diet (a classic low-carb diet basically) and all you're eating "more" of is protein and veggies (as with any lose-weight diet) and you're only exercising "less" if you used to be an exercise fiend before. The recipes are okay, but somewhat uninspiring, essentially all variations on meat/fish + tomatoes/spinach/peppers in various combinations. The theory is that you can have carbs, but only for the one meal after your workout, and you're recommended to workout 4-5 times per week, so you can only have carbs 4-5 times per week. For practical reasons I can only workout first thing in the morning, which means I'm only allowed carbs for breakfast - and although Joe encourages you to be flexible with what you eat at what meals - I don't want to be cooking pasta or rice at 7:30am to eat before work. So my carb allowance gets used up basically on bananas and oats only. As other reviewers have mentioned, the portion sizes are also way off sometimes, and there's no nutritional information given. Some meals I literally could not force myself to finish there was so much, while others I was still left hungry. It's hard to balance out your day because of this. Also part of the book's philosophy seems to be that you make the meals in bulk so you can put leftovers in a tupperware and reheat at a later point. If you don't have a microwave this is pretty difficult, or if you don't want to eat the same meal two or three times a week then also not great. In fact some of the recipes (the beetroot brownies for example) make enough for 12+ portions, but they only last for 4 days, and you're told only to eat 1 a week - so unless you've got 11 friends who also want a beetroot brownie you're just wasting a lot. On the exercise side - the book encouraged me to start exercising - but the instructions given in the book are completely inadequate. Instead I looked up some of Joe's videos on YouTube which give you a much better idea of what to do and are more detailed and wide-ranging. A note on the vegetarian side: I am a veggie and lots of other veggie reviewers have noted that there aren't any veggie recipes. That's pretty much true, but it's really not hard to substitute chicken for quorn chicken or mince for quorn mince or turkey meatballs for quorn meatballs or whatever. I did that throughout and it worked fine. Overall I'd say it's okay, but not worth all the hype as being so revolutionary. It's just a standard diet cookbook with a few reminders to exercise, too. Rather than buying the other books in the series I'm just going to stick to the Hairy Dieters recipe books for food (which are fantastic - I have all four and don't have a word to say against them) combined with Joe Wicks's YouTube exercise videos.

Inspiration to eat a better balanced diet
I haven't started this plan yet but I am planning it right now for my husband. The recipes for non workout days are variations on protein+veg but he has added flavour with spices. They all look like fresh, exciting food. I am pregnant so I won't be following the diet and exercise regime but the food is all sensible so I will still be able to eat the same evening meal as my husband and I think it will improve the nutrient levels of my diet. I don't think the recipes will only take 15 minutes to make. It will take me longer than that to wash and chop the vegetables! To me that doesn't matter though if the food is worth it. I think there are a lack of sensible breakfast and packed lunch options but enough to get by. The packed lunch options are just to take a cold dinner in a box really. There are two smoothie recipes which are easy grab and go breakfasts but it does warn you not to eat a smoothie every day. My main reason for giving this book 5 stars is that it's fun to read! It's amusing. The pictures of Joe posing with broccoli etc have made me smile and the instructions are written as if he's talking you through the recipe. Even if you're not going to commit to a diet and exercise regime, I'd recommend this book as a great healthy eating book which may inspire you to add some veg to your diet and ditch some of the pastries.

Simple
This is kinda like the bodybuilder cut, bulk, maintain but for non-body builders. I love the recipes - it's not all chicken, kale & protein shakes. Great for anyone looking for easy way to lose fat & learn about sustainable fat loss.

Man benötigt keine unnötigen, fancy Produkte.
