Campact and fast
Great product if one need a fast thunderbolt drive for creating local backups. It's compact and it doesn't take a lot of space.

Fast transfers at Thunderbolt 5 speed for large amounts of data.
This drive replaces a non-Thunderbolt USB-C drive for storing frequently-accessed 60 to 100 MB photo files. It delivers what it promised - lightning-fast loading of large amounts of data. The drive comes with an 19" (50 cm) Thunderbolt 5 cable. A couple of other review have reported random disconnects from MacBooks. But after a week of heavy, frequent use, I haven't had any disconnects on an M5 MacBook Pro running the most current OS (15.6.2 as of July 2026). The drive does get quite warm in normal use. In its silicon sleeve, it's no problem handling it on the rare occasion when I've picked it up. (Sitting on the desk at idle right now, the surface temperature of the metal case is 95F.) This drive isn't as robustly packaged as OWC SSDs. Those would survive being run over by a car. But I don't expect that to happen to the Sabrent when I transport it in a briefcase.

Great drive with a small hiccup
There's a lot to like about this drive, and one small issue. Excellent capacity, great price, small enough to carry, works great with Apple MacBook, solid build quality, and blazingly fast. There was one issue, though, that almost made me return it...the drive would disconnect itself from MacOS quite often. Because of all the positives, I did a quick search and found the cable might be the issue. I ordered a quality Thunderbolt 5 cable from Anker and the drive has been solid ever since. Was the cable really at fault? Can't be 100% sure as the drive's docs state it's a very high quality cable. But the cable swap fixed my issue. I would not let my experience dissuade you from getting this excellent drive. A $10 cable is a simple fix if you even have the issue I had. The positives of the drive is worth an extra few dollars.

FAST
FAST and easy to use

Great drive, but expensive
The speed is the same as the built-in MBP storage. The only issue is the heat - it's always hot even when it's not in use. And it's expensive.
